So I guess they’re keeping the indigenous place names. I like it.

Interestingly, he was in Perth on the old news set:

Any idea what he’s doing in Perth?

…what’s left of…

Jonathan LaPaglia will be on The Sunday Project tomorrow, before the new season premiere of Australian Survivor.

He’s from WA, probably family related

At least 10 still have the capability there and are using it for something. I also like how The Project is now calling out where the person on the screen actually is rather than trying to hide it - one way to inject a little localism from places that aren’t Melbourne or Sydney.

Would’ve been great to maintain the west coast studio to do a late news from like Nine do. It would make so much economic sense. But alas, no foresight or interest from 10.

no.

It could have but it all depends on automation and remote control but that would mean expenditure to begin with. But it all depends on whether they actually want a news department long term.

They still use it every weeknight for sport, which comes out of Perth still.

Tuesday (20.07.2021): ABC’s Georgie Tunny is hosting with Carrie tonight.

Two female hosts. Is this a first?

I think we’ve seen it before.

She’s quite good this Georgia Tunny. Not a bad panel tonight overall.

Waleed probably on leave for Eid.

A shame they didn’t do a story to celebrate 12 years. Georgie Tunny was great as co-host. She has always been great on the panel but she really stepped in this role.

They should let her host more than Jan Fran. Georgie’s great, Jan is awful in comparison.

12 years is a bit of a random milestone to celebrate though. Shows usually do stuff for the really noteworthy numbers: 5, 10, 15, 20 and so on.
