no not at all, but Ten has been trying to target younger audiences, whereas those that would know her work more would be in the 50+ age group. I just think that Dionne Warwicks appearance on The Project would be more like James Sheeny, Tim Shaw or Suzanne Paul appearing on something like Heres Humphrey back in the 1990s or early 2000s
Yet, Steve Price is on the show on a weekly basis, and he’s 69. I’m sure not just people under 50 are watching The Project
Steve Price is probably more a familiar face and has been active on Australian media for years, and I am sure that Brian Henderson was still alive and presenting that viewers would have tuned into National Nine News with Brian Henderson in Sydney.
There is a big difference between Steve Price and Dionne Warwick.
I’ve got no idea what Brian Henderson has to do with any of this, or even what that sentence means, but i hope nobody is suggesting that Dionne Warwick is some sort of unknown? She would run rings around grumpy Mr Price

They have had guests like Ray Martin and Barrie Cassidy on the show as well - they have plenty of guests for the young demographics - heaven forbid that there is someone who is more decent quality than some of The Project’s more youthful guests (i.e. reality show contents).

What i am saying is that younger generations would still know the likes of Brian Henderson because he is a well known media personality. Whereas Dionne Warwick would not be as well known as Australian personalities.
Its a bit like me having a conversation with people even 10 years younger about music artists from the 1980s and 1900s and most say who is that? Im not sure that the target demographics of Ten is suited to such a star - and yes I am acknowledging her as a star
Brian Henderson hasn’t been on TV apart from the odd show or interview for 22 years now - I’d say not many young people would know or remember him.
10’s main demographic might be young audiences, but they can still cater for older demographics too. Plus it’s summer, and I’m sure many young people are out and about - one guest isn’t going to cause the show to crash in the ratings.

As others have said. No one under the age of (maybe) 38 would know who he is. And no one outside Sydney would know of him.

Mate, my youngest sister is 31 and she knows who Brian Henderson is… AND i am sure others would know him too. If you had said 28, I would have said well… , maybe you are right. My youngest sister was 9 when he went off the air. BTW - I live in the Hunter region and he did on occasion pop up for newsbreaks even though NBN did the main news bulletins - so this claim by @BJT2 no one outside of Sydney claim is rather peculiar given Nine provided WIN with the main National bulletin since before aggregation which services Southern NSW, Canberra and Central West NSW.
As for @TVHead, its not an odd post - I think its odd how someone would try and compare an “international” star who was best know in the US, her own country, as “the psychic lady” in the 1990s - even then she was past her prime with a local personality is odd. I would see Dick Van Dyke on The Project at 99 years old more relatable.

I don’t think Dionne Warwick was best known for that. She is best known for her music career and famous family members in music like Cissy Houston and Whitney Houston.

Most Project interviews go for 2-3 minutes, and half of it is filled with highlights of the guests career. Are we (myself included) overthinking this all? Does anyone care how old a guest is and who the target audience is?

It’s also summer - many young people are out and about, and it’s one interview - like I said before, The Project’s ratings aren’t going to collapse because they have the odd guest here and there who appeals more to an older demographic.
