It’s significant because it’s a prominent person in the media who is not hiding his sexuality. One day it will not make news but right now it still does. I think it’s a significant move forward in our society.
There are still a number of other media identities who either hide their sexuality or are not as open so don’t attend events with their partners for fear of a backlash. This will change.

Exactly… and it was the first time he publicly confirmed he was gay by walking the red carpet hand in hand with his partner last night. The articles l’ve seen today have been nothing but supportive of the couple.

Maybe but most people wouldn’t be aware. I only found out earlier this year when he posted a photo in the crowd at Mardi Gras and people mentioned the rumours in this forum.
He’s totally open now.

It’s been obvious for years.
I don’t think that’s correct. He and tommy have talked about grinder and he attended Mardi Gras. I think he came confirmed this a long time ago.
In defence of the gossip columns they would be going just as nuts if Carrie Bickmore walked in with a new man.
Well aware of the interaction between him and Tommy, but my point was last night was the first time he has been photographed at a public event with his partner.
He may not have been keeping it a secret that he is gay and may have aluded to it with comments on social media and Tommy Little has made some quips but nothing blatantly obvious.
He has never publicly been open, as he was with this appearance on the red carpet.
So?
I don’t know why everyone has to turn everything into a debate.
Something happened. It was worth noting. It was reported. That is all. You can all move on now.

It’s good it is reported. People saying so? Or who cares? Or whatever… we have had Carrie Bickmore get into a new relationship and it’s been reported. What’s the big deal about posting this as well? It’s great to see him happy and with someone and they look like a great couple.
