It does make sense given dozens of US Marines are training in Darwin at the moment.
If there is a third season of NCIS: Sydney, I would like to see a special episode filmed in Perth, the actual location of NCIS’s Australian office.

The Northern Territory is rolling out the red carpet for the global hit series NCIS: Sydney, with filming officially underway in Darwin. This exciting production marks a significant milestone for the Territory, reinforcing its reputation as a world-class destination for film and television projects.
Earlier this year, Endemol Shine Australia, CBS Studios, Paramount Australia, and Screen Territory announced that two episodes of NCIS: Sydney would be filmed in the Top End, highlighting the Northern Territory to audiences across the globe. The production is a direct result of Screen Territory’s Production Attraction Incentive Program (PAIP), which aims to attract high-profile film projects that will boost the local economy and showcase the NT on the world stage.
Productions filmed in the NT make a significant contribution to the region’s economy, generating local jobs and creating opportunities for Territory businesses across multiple sectors. From employing local crews to engaging suppliers of goods and services, the production is set to leave a lasting impact on the NT’s economy while enhancing the skills and experience of the local screen industry.
The first international iteration of the global NCIS franchise outside of the US, NCIS: Sydney is a brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS Agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) who have been grafted into a multi-national taskforce to keep naval crimes in check.
NCIS: Sydney is one of the most watched local series since the launch of Paramount+ Australia and premiered on CBS US as the #1 new series in the fall of the 2023-2024 season, with the series premiere reaching over 10.2 million viewers on linear in the U.S.
The series is produced by Endemol Shine Australia for CBS Studios and Paramount Australia, and distributed outside Australia by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
The Territory Government’s Production Attraction Incentive Program is open all year round, offering incentives to attract major productions to film in the NT. These productions bring direct economic benefits by employing Territorians and using Territory services and businesses, while also showcasing the NT’s unique appeal to the world.
Director, Screen Territory, Jennie Hughes:
“Screen Territory has been a key supporter of NCIS: Sydney, working closely with the production to ensure that filming in the NT is a seamless and rewarding experience. The Territory’s diverse locations, skilled local crews, and strong government backing make it an ideal destination for filmmakers, with NCIS: Sydney being the latest in a growing list of high-quality productions choosing the NT.”
“Hosting a globally recognised franchise like NCIS is a fantastic opportunity to show off all the Northern Territory has to offer – not only does it promote visitation to the NT by showcasing our incredible landscapes and culture on screen for millions to see, but it also provides valuable employment opportunities for locals and boosts the Territory’s economy.”
Head of Scripted, Endemol Shine Australia, Sara Richardson:
“Endemol Shine Australia is delighted to be filming in the Northern Territory, showcasing the beauty of Australia’s Top End to the rest of Australia and around the world. Working with local cast and crew, as well as the 100s of extras, is always incredibly rewarding, and the community of Darwin has both welcomed and supported us, which we are so grateful for.”
Paramount ANZ, Creative Advisor Drama, Rick Maier:
“There is nothing more representative of our diverse landscape than the incredible Northern Territory. We are both excited and proud to see NCIS: Sydney explore this vibrant region with the brilliant support of the NT Government. Hats off for helping us showcase your phenomenal back yard to the world.”

More wacked programming from 10. Why wouldn’t you air the original alongside it to help launch this show?
It will be simulcast on 10 Bold.
In week 2, it will air back to back with the original NCIS
That means the original NCIS will move from Tuesday to Wednesday night, given its original timeslot has been allocated to Law & Order: SVU.
So 23rd Oct, they will air Ep 1 & Ep 2 of Origins (which air 14th Oct in )?
Then 30th Oct they will air S22Ep 1 of OG (which air 14th Oct in ) & Ep 3 of Origins (which air 21st Oct in
