I’ve seen a few live ones over the last few months. I only see the show every now and then as I’m at work.
They used to do this quite a bit in the early days on Adam Boldan’s watch.
Chris was back on Wednesday as well.
TMS (and Today Extra for that matter) have become so stale and boring. TMS needs some life. This could be achieved with an audience, more opportunities for ‘fun’ segments and perhaps a panel that debates some hot topics each day (like Studio 10).
I think TMS has had its day. Not helped by the fact that Larry & Kylie are always off (Larry moreso with The Chase). Personally, I would like to see it replaced with an ensemble show like Studio 10 was.
Really? It’s still the most watched morning show and has outlasted countless other shows over its long run.
Please note. Studio 10 was mostly always in third place and was changed due to high costs and axed due to low ratings.
Yes the final version had poor ratings, but thats because 10 cut everything that was good about it. It was growing into a true competitor in @blackbox’s days.
Studio 10 was great when it first started. But sadly, wasnt so good towards the end of its run.
The Morning Show is still winning the slots overall. Yes, Larry Emdur is away regularly due to the filming of The Chase, which is a shame (as The Morning Show is where is shines).
@TV.Cynic Curiously, do we know how the “late segment” is going for the show? Since extending the show to 12pm, instead of 11.30am, in recent months.
Factually incorrect. During my time Studio 10 had become #2 and the trend showed that it would ultimately beat TMS. We always stayed on budget and delivered ratings (something even people at 7 agree with). Things only went downhill when they changed the format.
And when you left Studio 10
If 10 truly wanted to build their news brand, bringing back classic Studio 10 wouldn’t be a bad start IMO. Just a thought.
The brand is completely tarnished after all the presenter and content changes over the years. Start fresh.
There’s always name Good Morning Australia that could be revived.
The original Studio 10 from 2014 is an expensive format in today television landscape. I’m not sure seven or nine would have the budget to recreate a show like that for mid morning programming. .
I’m not denying that it managed to get to #2 for a time but for most of the life of the show it was #3. My point was that emulating the formula would not help TMS do better than what it does now.
