With the show being extended to three hours, I reckon a third host should be added in who can present the news updates and be a segment/features host for the program.
It will still be marketed as just being Larry and Kylie, but get a strong third presenter to hang around and do other bits and pieces, instead of just getting junior 7NEWS reporters.

I didnât expect this. Three hours is too long. Then again, doesnât the starting time vary with Sunrise usually finishing later than usual? So a win win situation? And more room for advertorials.
A one hour news at Midday? Thatâs too much news. It will be 8 hours of straight news (5am-1pm). Next, we will be seeing the 4pm News moving to 3pm and having a 2 hour bulletin. Lol.

Or a revival of the Daily Edition so they can sell more advertorial slots.

I mean, nobody is watching the full 2.5 hours of this. The nature of the audience is that it drops in an out of it. So if the advetorial spots are selling well, it makes sense to extend another 30 mins and slot another few in.

I hope they revamp the format for the last part of the show. The last half hour atm is more advertorials, less content.

I donât like it. I would have done Sunrise 5:30-10 and then TMS for 2Hrs.
Itâs purely a decision to run more infomercials

I guess it is to sell more infomercials, and to retain the lead in that The Morning Show gives later into the day.

Why would they copy Studio 10? It failed and was axed. TMS has been the timeslot leader since Day 1.

The Morning Showâs ratings are coded into two. The main one we usually see (9-11am), and the âlateâ segment f(11-11.30am). There is usually a big drop off for the late segment.
Will be interesting to see if the trend continues next year.

If they format the last hour like the rest of the show there should be less drop off but itâs obviously a reflection on the last 30 mins being mostly advetorials and commercials.

Without heading into mock scheduling, I feel like they should cut the start of Sunrise back to 6am and have an hour of news at 5, and run til 10am and have TMS 10-1. Donât really need another bulletin at midday.
