I just watched the Unmasked special. While it gave viewers a look at the security measures and design of the elaborate costumes, it didn’t answer this question: how and where did the celebrities rehearse the performances? Did they rehearse with their masks on?
I liked that Robot sang Miley Cyrus (and Dolly) associated songs tonight. I don’t think Cody Simpson and Miley were dating when this was filmed though.
The weren’t but they’ve known each other for years.
I looked at Cody Simpson’s Instagram for clues. He has two photo posted in Sydney in late July which coincidentally is when The Masked Singer was recorded.
Cody Simpson dated her sister so that’s one. She hasn’t known anyone so far and with only Millsy and Gorgi left, safe to say 4 was a very big stretch.
Didn’t you read the story above? Darren McMullen said he has partied with her in Los Angeles. Although she may have blacked out at those parties.
When my mask came off Lindsay was like, ‘Obviously I don’t know you’, and I thought actually we’ve met a few times," Darren said. “We were in LA at a massive house party, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Kardashian. Lindsay was there till the bitter end with me.”
Gorgi may have interviewed her over the years so that might be another connection. It’s a stretch but still.
It took until tonight’s episode for the judges to guess that Paulini was Spider. Either some of the clues were too difficult to decipher or the judges had little idea.
Jackie O has stated that the judges make a lot of guesses and the producers decide which ones to show. So they could have guessed Paulini before but the producers decided until today to show it.

They did guess Paulini in one of the earlier episodes but then other guesses were shown in following episodes.
I agree. The talent (well at least the top 6) has been incredible. They are all recognisable faces to most and it’s been great to see people like Kate Cebrano, Paulini, Nikki Webster etc on TV again. It’s an Australian show so it’s good to have Aussies on there.
I have no doubt though that Ten have a longer term plan for this show. Season 1 was going to rate regardless, so if they were going to spend money on international names/acts they prob waiting till the second season and use that to hype it up more.
The Spider was definitely the hardest to guess and I had no idea it was Paulini until last night. Spider and Robot have had the most cryptic clues which is a good thing. Doubt general viewers have or had been able to guess either.
That’s how they all should be. Some clues have been too obvious.

So am I right that they are planning two seasons next year? An olympics special and a regular season? I’m assuming the Olympic special will be full of Olympic sports people.

Where have you heard this?? Please no, Ten. They are already risking killing Survivor with a double season. Don’t do this with The Masked Singer.

Tvblackbox podcast mentioned it. Apparently it was discussed at the upfronts.
Some “clues” were ridiculous, a photograph of Jennifer Anison in Friends because he characters name was Rachel and Paulini played Rachel in The Body Guard.

It was the picture of Rachel next to the Marron - the character in Bodyguard was Rachel Marron.

I don’t think that’s ridiculous. I think that’s a really smart cryptic clue. They need more clues like this so it’s not too easy to guess. It was fun having someone like the Spider who wasn’t as obvious as some others.

I think a photo of someone named Rachel is what you would consdier a legitimate cryptic clue. That “clue” was just random. Overall I would prefer the clues to be a bit less obvious, would be good if production were a little more deliberate in encouraging people to be confused like for ALien using clues that apply to both Samantha Jade & Nikki Webster.

I would really like to see the unmasking done without the heavy hair and make up, most of them are wearing skull caps or similar dressings however with the reveal the hair is perfectly blow dried styled. I find it interesting to actually see how they would have been under the mask.
