They probably do rehearse the show before they do it in front of a live audience. Even a news program like The Project does it and they don’t hide the fact that they rehearse in the afternoon.
Yeah of course i totally understand that.
I’m so bad at explaining my thinking… I just think the jokes are a little overdone.
I thought Mel was quite scripted, but that is her job as the “anchor”. Shane was very much adlibbing and bringing a fun vibe to the show, and I thought they complimented each other well.
My criticism was that in parts it was too edited and moved along just a little too quickly. It needs to slow down a little and relax into a slower more chatty vibe.
Episode 2
Friday 2 May 8:30pm
Archie Thompson and Dr Renee Lim join hosts Mel Doyle & Shane Crawford to chat fears and phobias, household items sending us to the ER, and a unique way to relieve stress. Plus, Shane joins the circus.
Saw an advertisement on the side of a bus at Chermside, Brisbane yesterday.
Saw one in Brisbane city today too, whole side of it.
Chemist Warehouse be spending some $$$$.
Still haven’t seen any blatant obvious link to Chemist Warehouse.
Probably part of the play. Chemist Warehouse is seen as cheap (and maybe nasty by some, not me though) whereas The House of Wellness (which they operate on other channels and mediums) is more premium.
How was episode 2?
I haven’t watched it yet.
Episode 3
Friday 9 May 8:30pm
Mel Doyle and Shane Crawford are joined by Yvie Jones and Dr. Rochford to chat Mother’s Day, beard envy and bowel checks, while Josh Piterman visits a pop choir and Guy & Jules Sebastian drop by.
I watched a few segments tonight. It’s quite good I think. Shane does better than I imagined.
The best bits of The Living Room was the ‘live’ studio segments, so this show does well in that it looks to be mainly studio based. The graphics are quite annoying though.
Agree. I missed episode 2; but this week seems to have settled down into a good rhythm. I’ve laughed out loud a couple of times. I could see the show evolving into something good.
