According to Irish lifestyle website RSVP Live, Graham Norton was a judge on the BBC reality show ‘I’d Do Anything’ in 2008 when Jessie auditioned for the role of Nancy in a London West End stage revival of Oliver. (She came second, and was later offered the opportunity to understudy for the role of Nancy, but she turned it down)
A really bad edit in the opening monologue tonight. I assume Ten had to remove a joke about The Traitors which was inappropriate for the PG rating.
Also had to censor a lot of f-bombs.
Please do not put the show on at 6pm again Ten, especially if you have to butcher it to fit the PG rating.
At the start of Graham’s chat with Owen Cooper, the host told Owen that he would have turned 16 by the time this episode screened on TV. Owen’s birthday is December 5. Does this mean this NYE episode was shot in early December?
Correct.
10 dropped a sentence from Graham’s monologue about Celebrity Traitors. I think it’s partly due to sensitivity over the Bondi Beach terror attacks.
I saw the episode on Dailymotion and heard the monologue in full. This is what he said (the deleted quote in bold)
But a great end to the year on TV as Celebrity Traitors became one of the most watched programmes of the year. Yes! (audience applause) Finally! Mass murder was funny. (Audience laughter as photo of Alan Carr dressed as a Traitor was shown on screen) Celebrities were killed in surprising ways. Touched on the face, on the receiving end of a Shakespeare quote, and some were nearly gassed to death. (Farting sound and Celia Imrie’s image was shown on screen) Yes! A national treasure of breaking wind was the highlight of the year.
I don’t think that was a necessary edit. It’s about context and nobody would have made that connection. It was purely about The Traitors.
That looks like they made the right decision.
Yeah I agree - a smart edit and avoids any unwanted headlines about insensitivity.
Great work from Channel 10 holding over an episode of Graham Norton from Halloween in October to screen in January. ![]()
It has been announced that an adaptation of Graham Norton’s 2022 novel Forever Home has been commissioned by 5, with the cast having also been confirmed.
AI Programming now at 10.
They’re at least running the eps in order outside the Xmas and NYE eps which ran of their respective weeks here rather than being held back.
They should have just screened these eps before Christmas and run a few repeats now when there are less viewers watching anyway.
Sneak peek from this week’s episode, featuring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, stars of Song Sung Blue.
Jumping forward to episode 17 next week. 6 February on BBC fast tracked to 12 February here.
Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, Oscar-nominated Amanda Seyfried and director Ryan Coogler join Graham on his sofa.Jacob Alon performs their single Don’t Fall Asleep.
So messy how they schedule this show. Most weeks you watch it and there are references to things that happened two or three months ago.
Obviously because of Margot Robbie being on the show, otherwise they would have stayed course with the order now that the Christmas/New Year eps are done.
If it was repeat from 2-5 Years ago it wouldn’t matter so muçh.
