The Footy Show (AFL)

I worked at many Grand Final footy shows at RLA, the last probably 12 years ago or so, even then the top level of the seating bowl was curtained off. The decline has been long.

I was at the show live and really enjoyed it. I do hope that it is back next year as it was such fun or a night and I enjoyed myself so much!!’n

It is usually more fun being in the audience of most tv shows, than what appears on tbe telly.

IF the show returns in 2020, just make it a few specials, like what they promised this year. Could be just a handful of eps - season opener, ANZAC Day special, mid year special and the Grand Final special.

Sunday Footy Show has received a new desk.

It’s as big as the Seven News Perth desk

Seems that tweet has been deleted, so here is the new one.

They would’ve had to completely dismantle the Nine News set for that desk to fit in :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Where is that studio? GTV9?

Yes. I believe it’s now moved into the kids WB studio. Separate from the news studio.

New Hawks Star Johnathon Patton Live

No footy? No worries – free-to-air TV’s only dedicated Sunday AFL program, the Sunday Footy Show, will keep you entertained this Sunday at 11.00am on Nine and 9Now.

Hawthorn goal-kicking star Jonathon Patton will join the show live as this week’s special guest. After moving from Greater Western Sydney at the end of 2019, Patton has only been able to wear the Hawthorn jumper once this season. He will break down his isolation training routine and high hopes for returning to the field.

With the AFL season set to restart next month, Damian Barrett will have the latest on what Round 2 might look like.

After sparking controversy this week with his strong thoughts on the infamous Jesaulenko mark, Kane Cornes, along with the panel, will reveal the results from the latest fan vote: who has taken the greatest mark of all time?

They will then turn their attention to the greatest ever bump.

Plus, watch out for the favourite segments Caught My Eye, Browny’s Quiz, Vol-Kane-O and Llordo’s Deep Dive, which looks at what would have been the Round 8 match-ups.

Join Tony Jones, Billy Brownless, Matthew Lloyd, Nathan Brown, Kane Cornes and Damian Barrett this week for the Sunday Footy Show.

I think nine should consider bringing the format back this year. Show it at 7:30 on Thursday’s.

I don’t think it’s a good idea as it could clash with any Thursday night AFL matches later this year.

That’s true but on those nights they could move to 7:30 Wednesday. Currently 9 don’t have a lot of 7:30 content so it could provide quite a bit of it until the block starts later this year

They’ve got The Voice, Ninja Warrior and Halifax that potentially could also air at 7:30pm.

Surely they will only air some of those realities two nights a week like LEGO masters though

I agree. Shows like Ninja Warrior and The Voice shouldn’t be on for more than twice a week.

Nine can air some Footy Show specials throughout the year? Rather than a series?

Is Footy Classified still twice a week (but at a later slot)?

Footy is back

Footy is officially back and the AFL Sunday Footy Show has a jam-packed menu for starving fans this Sunday at 11.00am on Nine and 9Now in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and at 1.00pm on 9Gem in Sydney and Brisbane.

With Gill McLachlan finally declaring today that the AFL will return on Thursday, June 11, host Tony Jones and the panel will break down every detail of the announcement and see what footy fans can expect for the season restart.

AFL’s number one newsbreaker, Damian Barrett, will dive into the preparations facing the West Australian and South Australian teams, who will have to relocate to Queensland for a month due to their state restrictions on movement.

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley will join the show live to give an insight into his preparations for the restart when the Pies meet Richmond in an MCG blockbuster to kick off Round 2.

In Billy’s List, Billy Brownless will reveal the winning vote for the greatest ever bump – and then ask the viewers to vote on the best Dummy Spits and Tantrums.

Matthew Lloyd’s Llordo Deep Dive will ask the panel to take a look back at some of the worst losses they’ve been on the receiving end of. And with the Hawks and Swans supposed to have played in Round 9, we remember the Buddy move that shocked the footy world.

Plus, who will be on Kane Cornes’ hit list with another instalment of Vol-Kane-O, and who will prevail in Nathan Brown’s hilarious Browny’s Quiz?

Join Tony Jones, Billy Brownless, Matthew Lloyd, Nathan Brown, Kane Cornes and Damian Barrett this week for the Sunday Footy Show.
