This is probably a post for TV HIstory but I wonder if someone can pinpoint the first time it was said “The Footy Show is dead.” It seems to be said about both versions and seems to be said every single year over and over but still keeps coming.

The NRL show is at least dead. Dont know how it keeps coming back every year or how it keeps winning the logie for best sports show year after year.

Sneak peek of new-look Footy Show
EDDIE McGuire has apparently turned to Braveheart for inspiration as he gets set to relaunch The Footy Show tonight.
McGuire was spied outside the show’s Docklands studios filming what is reportedly part of a new opening titles sequence for the rebooted program.
The plot of Mel Gibson’s Academy Award winning 1995 film would resonate with McGuire who donned a hairpiece and blue face paint and was riding a horse for the cameras.
Yesterday McGuire saw the new-look set for the first time. Today he and Maddern and Sam Newman will be doing camera rehearsals.

Tonight’s relaunch unsurprisingly got some cross promotion on Nine News Melbourne tonight.

Seeing mostly negativity on social media.
Watched around half an hour… So awkward.
Many things to criticise and unfortunately not much to praise.
Eddie, doesn’t add much at all, too controlling IMO and unnecessary waste.
