like we’re now seeing with 10News+, taking a one-hour format and stretching it over a week is not a surefire winner.
Rather than The Cheap Seats five days a week, the 6pm show should have been like a cross between The Cheap Seats and The Project.
Two hosts mainly doing news and then guests coming in to cover entertainment, sport, interviews etc.
Leave The Cheap Seats where it is.
The only that should rightfully replace 10 Milk+, errr, I mean 10 News + should be the Simpsons. But we all know what won’t happen. ![]()
News but delivered differently
Tim McDonald was a guest on Nova breakfast with Mel Tracina and Matty Baseley today. Tim said he had known Mel for 12 years.
Abbey is back - by popular (MediaSpy) request ![]()
Steph Baumgartel gives us the lowdown on her live crosses from Morwell; Abbey Gelmi sums up the week’s sport, and; Ray O’Leary debuts a new segment!
Ray O’Leary’s new segment is called Ray of Sunshine, the same name as a segment on 7News Brisbane.
And 7News Adelaide
Introduced as “a new segment on Channel 7”? Not sure if 2021 is exactly “new” ![]()
Good show tonight. Relevant guest doing fun segments rather than randoms plugging stuff or talking about their children.
Abbey Gelmi is great. I might even start watching her on the ABC. She is the granddaughter of Herb Elliot. I usually like Ray but thought his segment fell flat.
Yes. It didn’t quite work.
The whole episode felt a bit flat to me, compared to previous eps this season anyway.
It’s understandable that not every week is stellar. Sometimes Tim and Melanie improv some very funny one linerd that become running jokes all night and sometimes the gags fall flat. It happrns.
Last night was the highest rated show of the year.
Great to spend my 30th birthday with my nearest and dearest* friends**.
