The chat with Daria Saville got off to an awkward start, when she confessed she had not watched the recent US Open a lot, apart from the highlights. (She suffered a three set loss in the opening round of the tournament to Japan’s Ena Shibahara)

It has taken three years and two months, but finally it’s the show’s 100th episode next week.

No surprise but welcome return in 2025

The Cheap Seats also returns to take a wry look back at the week that was with hosts Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald.

Like I mentioned with HYBA, also one of the best shows on FTA at the moment - Working Dog still proving that there is life after 8:30pm on FTA television if the product is well produced.

Happy 100th episode

Last year, Mel Bracewell won a medal and it ended up on HYBPA on national TV, and this year... this year will be my year to win a medal!

Across PAX weekend, I'll be doing everything I can to win a PAX Medal, so get on board and cheer me on; pressure creates diamonds, right? pic.twitter.com/Zq5RbVJoDk

Alan (friend of the show) did tease this week he would be back on national TV - did not think it would be The Cheap Seats.

Mum always told me never to turn-up empty handed, so for the 100th episode of @cheapseatsau I presented hosts @meladoodle & @TheTimMcDonald with some of my favourite wine from @LevantineHill
For all the fun please tune-in to
to @Channel10AU at 8.30pm. pic.twitter.com/zwzvWugDvt

With Mel T’s new role as host of Big Brother, will this impact TCS?

I think it may, as BB will be on 6 days of the week, with Mel likely to host a minimum of two of those days.

Cheap seats film Tuesday afternoon so I don’t think it will have a big impact :man_shrugging:

Taking on that role is a big commitment 6 nights a week over however long it runs for, it may have an impact on her radio work with Nova and mean she may not be able to commit to doing this show during that time. Guess we’ll find out next year.

She was still on air a few weeks ago while on holidays overseas- she can just pre record her radio stuff.

She won’t be hosting 6 nights a week. More likely 2 nights. Most episodes are just daily shows.

I can’t imagine it would impact her filming a short segment on this once a week (if BB is in Victoria) unless she wants to scale it back. Big Brother is still a good year away. A lot can happen in that time.

I think it’s the hidden time commitment to stay up to date with the housemates, there is only so much that she can be fed by producers, she needs to watch the content as well, especially in preparing for eviction interviews.
I think that’s where Gretel shone in knowing the housemates and it was very obvious when interviewing them.
