The Cheap Seats

Julia Zemiro guest host next week with Hamish Blake special guest.

Why did they schedule this the same time as Mel’s tour or vice versa? Wouldn’t you want to stay put on a popular show being a Kiwi expat?

Edinburgh Fringe only happens this time every year

Looks like a segment for Tuesday from Mel.

Nice to see Julia in a natural role. She really is comedy

The chemistry between Tim and Mel Tracina is off the charts this year.

This is true

I saw they picked a clip at the Welcome Home Olympians where Jess Fox quite obviously refused to speak to Sunrise and now we know why with her appearing on Today. (There was another time Shirvo tried and failed as well).

I was at the filming of Cheap Seats at 10 Sydney today. Was lots of fun. Watching back at the episode, lots of good material was cut.

That must be the first time the show is filmed in Sydney. Probably due to the Logies.

It was a jam packed episode.

I’m unsure if it’s ever been in Sydney before, but I imagine they moved it due to a combination of the guests and the Logies.

An unusually interview-heavy show this week. We were filming for over 2 hours, with only short breaks between each segment. That gives you an idea of how much had to be cut for timing.

Was it filmed at 10 SYD HQ?

All order has been restored :3rd_place_medal:

(Matt Denny was joking during his chat with Tom and Julia that his bronze medal was missing, as it was taken away by Hamish)

Very hard to tell it was coming from Sydney?

But on their Instagram stories, you can see Tim in the hallways of Pyrmont and the guests in front of the Football set which is also at Pyrmont.

Theg must have two of those same desks cause I know studio 10 used it in Sydney for a while, but also emulated the rest of the set well?

Cant imagine they shipped it up just for one recording lol.

Yes. Studio 1 in their Pyrmont facility. I think they said it’s also used for Ready Steady Cook.

Yup, same studio that also films The Sunday Project, houses one of the Football sets, previously Ready Steady Cook too.

Yeah I dunno - I assumed they shipped up the set. Aside from the desk it’d flatten well into a truck. Not much too it - lots of semi-translucent plastic with LEDs and TV screens.

Looking back at some older clips, the set I saw today had the same circular covers over screw holes, same checkerboard pattern on the translucent plastic, same style edging, etc. Unless they built another one to the same specs, I think they’ve just transported the set.
