Could dig out the old Adelaide news set if they have it somewhere in storage (IIRC it ended up being sent to Sydney after they moved buildings) 
Or, they could use the replica Sydney news desk they built for the Melbourne Cup in 2019 (if itâs still in storage down there).
Nobody but us knows that⌠It should just have a bespoke set by now that doesnât have elements of a racing flag etc. Itâs not cohesive and the angles are shit, they could make something that fits the space better now.
That would involve spending money. 10 are not into that. I like it as it is, recycled old news/sports desk fits the show perfectly, they make the space work well.
Disagree, angles arenât great especially when thereâs more than two at the desk.
Itâs working. Donât mess with a winning formula.
A set isnât content or editorial mate.
Viewers can react badly to change of any nature. Why change when itâs working well and rating well?
Purely a directorial issue, I think it would be shot a lot better if they could get better angles.
They make it work with what theyâve got, probably makes the show more economical to make using existing resources made available to them.
Is it ideal? Not really, but it doesnât seem to have affected the overall quality of the show. Canât see them splashing the cash on a new set anytime soon.
HYBPA? has largely remained the same over its run, with slight tweaks here and there, and has almost double the audience and would cost a lot more.
I have no problem with the set or how it looks with guests there.
If anything, they should just try different backgrounds and graphics on their screens. It looked quite refreshing having the Paris background this week. Do that sort of stuff more often.

Do you guys really like Mel Tracina as fill-in? Her segment is really good but shes very flat and tied to the autocue as host.
I didnât like Emma Holland that much either. They need a big gun to fill in - I would go for Ed Kavalee to fill for both Mel and Tim. Go back and watch TV Burp or The Joy of Sets, Ed is great at these clip-throwing sort of shows.
Mel is great. And the right person to be the fill in.
The Quarters segment was great. Lots of nostalgia from the 10 glory days.
Maybe Bindi Irwin?
