I don’t think that’s the reason
The money spinner was awful and went against the entire premise of the show. Sounds like these final round offers are more in keeping with the fornat of the show with there being a trade off for more or less money rather than it just being luck.
Agree though they shouldn’t have panicked with gimmicks and new Chasers and just trusted their product.
Tipping Point was the main reason - These gimmicks pushed even more viewers away. I’m one of them
Seven’s updated schedule has today’s episode S15 Ep 38 (previously was S16 E22) with Thursday S15 E62 and Friday S15 E31 all of which have previously aired.
Similar for next week where the Wednesday ep is now S15 E63 (previously S16 E24) followed by S15 E77 and S15 E67 on Thursday.
one week in and the cost cutting starts eh
unfortunately repeats (which often include gimmicks that the audiences had already rejected) will sink the ship even quicker
Surely 7 is planning a replacement to be launched after the Comm Games? If they don’t come up with something, it won’t be long before 7News Brisbane is half the audience of 9.
The Chase has got a some momentum over the last 2 weeks. Last week was the highest average audience in 6 weeks with the margin to Tipping Point 87,000 after 82,000 last week. That followed it blowing out to 150,000 4 weeks ago. The margin has narrowed the most in Sydney and Adelaide.
That saw Seven News win every night last week - though it could be argued that Seven News is helping to boost The Case’s numbers rather than the other way round?
Compared to this week last year The Chase is up almost 40,000 with Tipping Point down 30,000 - the margin then 156,000.
I’m a tipping point fan, was watching the UK version before most aussies even knew what it was.
But it’s pretty mind-numbing stuff. Watching to see if a coin falls off a shelf. And you can almost always work out the outcome based on how long the show has left to run.
I still think The Chase has longevity. And if they hold their ground, Tipping Point will eventually get old.
That’s exactly why I don’t watch it hahahahah - I feel like I am at learning some trivia watching The Chase
Last week was another comparatively good one for The Chase with the margin to Tipping Point reduced again down to 82,000.
The numbers were 612,000 to 694,000.
This week last year, the numbers were 594,000 to 687,000 (92,000 margin).
This week was The Chase’s highest rating week since the Australian Open (and the return of Tipping Point) with 634,000. However, Tipping Point, with 732,000 hit a 2026-high for its biggest margin in 4 weeks.
The Chase was up from 601,000 for this week last year and TP was up from 722,000 - possibly viewers who have stopped watching 10 News.
Will be interesting to see what happens when Daylight Savings finishes soon.
Tonight the 4 contestants that made the final chase were given $500.00 each from Harvey Norman!!
A promo just aired saying that the cricket special will be replayed on Tuesday in the 5PM slot.
Replay from earlier this year correct?
