If it fails to get any ground in 2026, I can see it being axed for 2027. Sticking with it for 2026 was the correct call
Or perhaps itās not the full year.. maybe theyāre working on something else to be premiered at a strategic point, say after the Commonwealth Games?
Probably because ratings make the difference.
Then again, we have TPA promoting $100k episode a full week before airing.
We said that this year. But Seven have opted to keep it.
And I think people will get tired of watching counter shelves move backwards and forwards with Tipping Point before too long, and people will come back to The Chase.
Perhaps they could also have a few Celebrity āThe Chaseā specials on weeknights to regenerate interest in the show?
Iād say this is what Seven are banking on. Plus they probably have no idea what to put in its place as the new āhitā format hasnāt yet presented itself
If the Money Spinner has been dropped as suggested above, hopefully theyāve gone back to basics as the show didnāt really need any change to begin with (ratings gap widened after the gimmicks were introduced)
Itās an 11 year old gameshow. These shows have a use by date.
The UK versions longevity Iād suggest is largely down to the Bradley Walsh and his back and forth with the Chasers and contestants. Something our version lacks.
