The Block

He is just warming up for celebrity apprentice tantrums.

Oh fuck off Scott. Don’t bow to them. They don’t deserve it after the behaviour tonight. No respect at all.

Without Danny the consequences would have been pretty dire

Very happy for Mitch & Mark. Feel for Kirsty and Jesse and Ronnie and Georgia.

He’s so bloody annoying though. Almost unwatchable.

I felt for Ronnie and Georgia but when they didn’t watch the other three I lost my sympathy. So rude.

What was it that Scott said about “we’ve given away…”. They haven’t given away anything. The buyers made up the difference between the reserve and the final price, and the sponsors provided most of the high end products.

If it was $5k or some low ball increments, then sure.

100k+ price bid jumps I can put up with him, for now.

Haha, I wonder if they’ll code this separately, as in ‘The Block - Photo Reveal’.

What an incredible gesture.

The most annoying man on television has redeemed himself.

What a kind soul!

it was so bad he offloaded it for a tax write off?

What happened to the competition of getting $ knocked off your reserve to give them a bit more of a chance and make the auction interesting?

The last time they did that was 2018.

I have been very invested in this series, but found myself turning it off after Tanya and Vito and I just googled the final auctions.

Next year looks interesting
10 acres each. So I wonder how contestant interaction will be as theyre not living as close to each other this time.

A lot of hate for Ronnie and Georgia on here, but I feel bad for them because unquestionably they were robbed. Whatever you think of their competitive personalities, they were far and above any other contestants throughout the entire series delivering amazing rooms week after week in really a masterclass of how to do The Block. The fact that Tania and Vito’s three bedroom rooky renovated house went for more than R+G’s property is unfathomable when they poured $100k+ extra into their house through extra prize money won throughout the series. Idk if Ron “stormed off” or if he was just really upset, because it was clearly a massive strategic error putting themselves first. They freaked out at the high reserves but should’ve stuck to their original plan; the last four season have shown that it doesn’t really matter how nice your house is, being 2nd in the auction order is all that you need to win. I’m also questioning whether the reserve prices were really fair, R+G have the smallest land, and they’re on the corner of a busy road, plus they inherited the ugly shed facade so the fact their reserve was the same as M+M/J+L is a bit ridiculous imo (in fact records on Domain show that the production company paid $200k less for House 1 compared to House 2+4 - 1.8m vs 2m). So, while 300k is obviously amazing, I can understand R+G must be devastated because if they flipped themselves with M+M in the auction order they could’ve won $400k+ more - and imo they deserved to win that much.

Will his renovation be judged against the other four houses next season?

I have always wished that at the beginning of the competition when the judges are briefed on the couples, their background etc, that they do not find out which house they get until the end of the competition, just makes it more interesting and would mean that the teams are solely getting based on the work they do without being compared to a higher standard if say for example one of them is an interior designer

It would be good if the judges didn’t know anything at all about the contestants. I would also like to see a ‘Scotty’ or a ‘Keith’ score as well that judges the build. There is too much judging on styling but the build and practicability should be considered.
