Convenient cross promotion with another Nine show.
He would have never been allowed to talk about “Survivor”.

Thank god I didn’t watch tonight’s episode. Sounds just as bad as I expected judging by these comments.
Just a heads up: the “Scandal of the Century” / “Judgement Day” continues on Sunday’s episode.
Wow. This was so good. I’m living for this shit. Can’t wait for Sunday night.
I agree. I hated it but loved it all the same. Ronnie said people watch the block for current trends. No I watch for stupid arguments and stupid people.
The basements will be judged on Sunday night. Based on what we saw this week, when the hell did they get time to finish the renovations??
Because we’ve seen about an hour of drama out of a 168 hour week?
No idea, I looked on the whiteboard but couldn’t see it.
No one has to accept their apologies
How are these couples not punished for what they’ve done?
Also the boys have broken 3 block rules.
Their trade helped paint.
They spent the night away from the block
They got outside interior design help.
And they have cheated by using the schedule!
Producers clearly orchestrated this whole drama. The articles earlier this week ‘producers trying to salvage shows reputation’ was all part of the plan to try and emotionally connect with the public.
Pathetic. They deserve to sink like MKR.
MKR fucked up with the fake drama and bizarre the Block even attempted to go down this path.
Agreed.
My gut feeling is that just like that ‘You’re excused from the table’ drama on MKR in 2018, this ratings boost will give them a leg up but next year it will start sinking like MKR circa 2019.
Seven and 10 needs to jump on the opportunity and continue to air big shows against The Block and kill them off for good.
Reminds me of ‘The Mole’ when one of the contestants found a note on a bus that was planted by the producers (from memory - pls correct me if I’m wrong).
I still think there is more to The Block’s ‘scandal’ than they’re admitting. Scott Cam is looking like an idiot in all his media interviews as they milk this storyline with him and his ‘serious’ face trying to make out this is the worst thing ever.
It’s not even reality TV anymore, it’s manufactured TV.
It’s like creating a drama show but without proper actors to do it cheaper.
They have lost the plot and agree it needs to go the same way as MKR.
I just wish one time they’d follow through and actually boot someone off if they do the wrong thing. Manufactured or not, they never actually penalise any of these ‘incidents’ every year.
How did someone get into Scott’s supposedly locked office?
Why would such ‘important’ information be kept on site? Presumably Scott only makes appearances when required and doesn’t stay onsite all day so why would he need this information at the location?
It usually backfires these sort of advertising grabs with the drama, as you have internal staff and contestants leaking details or the truth. Not overly known however Endemol had issues with MAFS contestants and staff leaking details around the orchestrated storyline’s, so contracts got tightened the following season to prevent that.
Look we all know on this site, and those who work in the industry, get its all just manufactured drama, that’s what the advertisers want.
However for the company , to approach the media and publications trying to push the whole story like its all the real deal ‘scandal’ is just utter bullshit.
Cam is just an actor by the way. Met him once picked that up within seconds. His a great storyteller.
The thing is though ratings don’t lie - a lot of people (including some on this forum who understand how the “sausage gets made” compared to your ‘average viewer’) have not only bought into it but are lapping it up.
Good lord, I can just imagine what a MAFS/The Block crossover might be like…
While I have been rather enjoying the Media Spy commentary about this “cheating scandal” on The Block, at the same time I haven’t been watching the show.
Everyone who’s hoping The Block will eventually have a MKR-like death in the ratings, I agree with them. Come on Seven and Ten, bring out your big guns against this show next year and kill it off for good!
Couples renovating their dining rooms before someone takes a photo of the schedule planned by the pairing ‘experts’ regarding who’s supposed to be having affair with who and then everyone bickering at dinner parties whilst Shaynna, Darren and Neale each give a score out of 10 for the drama?
Why don’t you just not watch? As you state you actually aren’t. Why does it have to be ‘killed off’ just because it isn’t your thing?
