The Bachelor Australia

Most of this is about mental health but last bit is about The Bachelors. The bit I thought was funny that Osher did not know it was only three weeks. I was like 4 episodes a week and he like ‘whhoooaaaaa’.

I’m thinking it’s a move to skew even younger. A test for the future.

I was watching a portion of The Project when a promo for tonight’s Bachelors aired. The narration said “Up next on 10, or watch right now on 10play”. I think it’s smart we can choose to watch when we please.

It may add extra buzz / office talk-ability to the show (or might do the opposite), but I applaud them trying something different.

The group date in tonight’s episode was filmed at swimming pool / gym in one of the private schools in Brighton. I swear I recognise the place from somewhere else before.

Why are they promoting this show with a voice over which sounds like a ridiculous character voice from a comedy cartoon?

I meant to mention this too, very strange marketing tactic this year and the voiceover seems quite fake. Not a fan

Yeah. It sounds like she’s competely taking the piss out of the show. I wouldn’t think ridicule is the best strategy for selling the show.

I thought it was supposed to be a Bridgeton v/o parody.

It might work as a one off gimmick for one episode but using that promo style for the whole series makes it look like the whole thing is a sketch comedy pisstake.

Finale is Wednesday, 20 December

In last night’s episode, Lisa crashed the group date at Alba thermal springs on the Mornington Peninsula, uninvited. Already dressed for the occasion, she simply walked up from the car park through the main entrance to the pools, and the receptionist didn’t blink an eye.

Lisa’s act wouldn’t have been possible without permission from the producers, as it takes two hours drive from the Brighton mansion (where the ladies lived during the filming of the season) to the springs complex.

Are you telling us this reality show is scripted and faked? :open_mouth: Well, I am shocked! :joy:

This season has way too much staged faked drama that’s been executed poorly. It’s too much. No wonder 10 are burning this season off as fast as they can in the non-ratings period.

On top of the Lisa thing, last week one girl supposedly gatecrashed the Bachelor pad late one night to see Ben, completely unannounced. Yet he was nicely dressed and there were camera crew indoors there for it all.

Then tonight - a girl was on a date at the house with him and a delivery of flowers from another girl just magically arrived in the middle the date. They want us to believe it’s just a coincidence that it arrived during the date. Cue the tears and “drama” that followed. :man_facepalming:

Also tonight - a snap rose ceremony at the Strata Bar at Oakwood Hotel in Southbank, just as the group date was taking place, with the bachelorettes’ friends also invited. Osher borrowed a vase of roses from the bar just for the occasion

Not strategically placed there at all.

Don’t shoot me - I kinda felt sorry for Lisa last night. There’s no way they were ever going to work as a couple but she opened up so much last night and showed a much softer, raw side of her. It was a shitty thing for them to have to choose between only two girls.

IF the show comes back they can’t do this 4 episodes a week thing again.

It only started last week so for a bachelor to have already made a decision and asked the other girls to leave is jarring to the viewer.

It’s been a week and he’s already found love. I understand in real life it’s been longer but they need to spread these episodes out so it’s more realistic for viewers.

Is that what the preview for Sunday’s episode 9 (now available on 10 Play) is about? Given the three guys were choosing from the same group of ladies, if a bachelor has found love, the other girls could vie for the other two.

Na they left.

@David Keeping reality shows real.

It’s actually filmed over 8 to 9 weeks so anything close to being “real love” is suss.
