Really not liking this clique/alliance that’s been formed. Ruins the fun for me, this is not supposed to be Big Brother. The pairs that I absolutely don’t want to win are Will and James and Gary and DeAngelo, both pairs seem very mean spirited.
Agree on both counts.
Alliances seem to be the latest thing, I’m dissapointed they have found their way into Amazing Race.
While alliances have always played somewhat of a part on Survivor they’ve gone WAY too far there too. Players seem to be scrambling for alliances on day one. I’m over it.
I felt really sorry for Hung and Chee when Phil pointed out that by waiting for the boys, they missed out on $15,000.00. Probably what the boys should’ve done was let them have the first cab but that didn’t happen. I guess it’s a hard lesson but I’m sure Hung and Chee won’t do it again.
I don’t like Will and James manipulating the other teams. Reminds me of Nick and Starr from many seasons ago and they ended up winning, despite getting all the others to do their dirty work.
100% agree. This series has been underwhelming because of the alliances.
The produces clearly tried to mix it up in the 2nd to last episode, but sadly didn’t go far enough.
The needed to bring back the elimination game at the very end, that would have put the cat among the pigeons.
I thought I read somewhere that they changed the rules so a team couldn’t u-turn a team that they know is ahead of them. Obviously I was wrong.
The blondes’ luck finally ran out in Hyderabad when they became the first time in Amazing Race history to be yielded twice in a single leg, and were eliminated. I don’t understand why the producers allowed teams multiple chances to use the yield hourglass. It should have been limited to 2-3 legs.
I usually love TAR but this season has been a bit slow for me…until the final episode. I won’t give anything away but, what an awesome episode! Great challenges and the final pitstop actually made me a bit teary!
I’m just the opposite. I quite enjoyed this season but felt the finale episode was a let down. I wasn’t a fan of the winners at all and the bit at the pitstop … ugh
Call me the Christmas grinch but it felt so contrived and cliched.
DeAngelo was about as ungracious as you can get. At least his partner tried to be gracious just a little. They were always more take than give and then seemed surprised when karma came for them.
The only other criticism I had during the season was they were all on the same flights every leg. Gets boring when they get evened up every leg.
This has been on the worst seasons for me. So much so that I decided to skip the final because I don’t like any of the 3 remaining teams. I am glad I did after reading who won.
The final two episodes were unsatisfying for me either because of the so-called alliance, it prevented fair competition until the final leg in New Orleans.
The music challenge at Manila really tested the memories of the four remaining teams and showed the importance of writing down notes after each leg of the race.
I didn’t like the king cake challenge at New Orleans because it wasted so much food.
At the finish line, Will proposed to James. They told Goldderby they were planning to get married in New Orleans in October this year but had to postpone the event due to COVID-19.
Yeah that cake challenge was a disgusting waste of food.
I havn’t read above comments incase I watch it but I havn’t gone back to this season after the first 2 episodes. Something about it just didn’t grab me this season. Is it worthwhile watching? The cast were not exciting to me but if there are some good tasks or locations I might binge it.
I enjoyed it up until the last couple of episodes.
The locations were great and there were a few fun teams and good challenges early on.
For me it seemed to peter out towards the end and was spoilt by too much alliance stuff, that made it a bit boring.
Not a great season for me but still worth watching.
Thanks I’ve watched every season so I’m sure I’ll get round to it.
Wow what an awful season truly. That hideous alliance was painful to watch and sucked all the joy out of the season.
Hated
-
Obviously the mine five alliance. Yes it’s always fun to see a massive gang up on a team that consistently comes last and poses no threat.
-
The last episode. What the hell. Those challenges were abysmal. Jumping a meter to grab a clue and catching beads. Riveting tv there.
-
Giving each other the answers continuously. Why bother to figure something out when you’re just given the clues and answers.
-
DeAngelo’s massive hyposcrisy. So it’s okay to shaft other teams, but when you get shafted you throw a massive hissy fit and come across a wanker.
-
Lack of female balance. No wonder hardly ever all female teams win, they never cast enough women. It should always be 50/50 especially when there are so many physical challenges.
-
Way too many professional sports teams. Seriously four. I want to see regular, average Americans, not elite athletes.
-
No to putting dentures in. I almost passed out during that.
-
Philippines leg was a total bust. From Phil’s lame don’t help other teams speech to the letdown of the City Sprint. I expected a whole leg foot race from one challenge to the next you know a proper city sprint without transportation.
Loved
-
Michelle and Victoria. My Cajun queens.
-
The Sisters. I just wish they weren’t so hopeless or kept getting bad taxis.
-
The winners. I hated that alliance with a passion and although they could be nasty, petty, vindictive out of that five alliance I’m glad they won.
-
The first half legs. Interesting countries and challenges.
I’m glad the Producers realised there was too many strong alliances and are looking into fixing it in the future. Though they should have flat out said no helping each other during the race like the Kazikstan leg, especially as they knew it was too powerful before the start in the Philippines leg.
This is a cool insight to The Amazing Race.
Phil was asked a question on Twitter. He is now back with family in New Zealand, after his 14 days in hotel quarantine.
Does anyone know where you can watch this in Australia? It seems to be gone already form 7Plus.
Not sure but it did expire on Dec 31. Perhaps when the grub happens on foxtel.
You will have to wait until it’s replayed on 7flix down the track.
Thanks. I got a few eps in and now they are gone. I will find another way to watch them.
