This year marks the 20th anniversary of the 1997 mega hit film The Full Monty. The film touched the hearts of audiences worldwide as eight ordinary men faced their fears and stripped off for a cause close to their hearts.

Now, in the special television event, THE REAL FULL MONTY, a group of eight Australian male celebrities will strip down in a large-scale performance to raise awareness for testicular and prostate cancer.

In this feel-good documentary we’ll go on the journey with these eight brave celebs – from the awkwardness of the first rehearsal, to the final triumphant show where they rip their G-strings off in front of a packed audience Who will dare to bare all for a worthy cause?

THE REAL FULL MONTY

Eight famous men set to take it all off

Shane Jacobson (Little Big Shots) will host Channel 7’s THE REAL FULL MONTY, a must-see television event for one night only.

Shane will recruit eight very familiar faces from all ages, shapes and sizes and convince them to take it all off in front of thousands for one very memorable performance.

This fun and feel-good documentary will see eight famous men leave nothing to the imagination paying homage to the iconic film.

Viewers will go on a journey with these brave men, from the awkwardness of the first rehearsal to the final triumphant moment standing in nothing but their birthday suits.

Shane will host alongside choreographer Todd McKenney (Dancing with the Stars, The Boy from Oz) whose job it is to put our celebrities through their rhythmic paces building up to one glorious moment.

The one-off special is also designed to raise awareness of men’s cancer, something that Jacobson feels needs more attention.

“If the blokes we round up are brave enough to go the Full Monty then the men of Australia can be brave enough to talk about cancer.”

Sydney audiences can register to be in the audience for our celebrities’ one-off performance on Monday April 16 here.

Who will dare to bare? THE REAL FULL MONTY is coming soon to Seven for one night only.

If it is a one-night special I think it will air on Monday, April 23, because the AFL will be shown on the following night.

This is based on an ITV special that aired last year, and was raising awareness of prostate cancer. There is another ITV special this year, Thursday night in the UK, in support of breast cancer.

It will be Sam Mac. Imagine if Kochie did it, so many traumatized people in the audience.

Second short promo aired tonight in Melbourne, featuring Bruce McAvaney, Brian Taylor and Cameron Ling at the AFL coverage host desk at the MCG. Probably points to Ling being involved.

Jonesy, from Amanda and Jonesy, will be one of them.

Jonesy Everywhere.

Hosting a weekly segment on Studio 10 on Ten, hosting Weekend Today over Easter on Nine, now this on Seven.

Assuming this will include prompts to donate to a Men’s Health charity or charities?

That copy in the article was incorrect and has been amended with that statement deleted.

As per the Seven Media release:

He’s been losing weight, as shown in a funny segment on Talking Footy. Wonder if it was specifically for this? He has lost a significant amount too.

Sam Mac told News Corp he and the other seven men had attended secret rehearsals since August last year. They would have been in training for two months when Seven launched the show at its Allfronts event.

Yes.
