And a show with traditional opening and closing credits. I wish we had this for all shows. I hate accelerated flow. It ruins the experience of watching TV.
Loved that as the final episode of a great return season. Feel sure that it will be back next year.

Shame no Shaun Micallef for some reason.
It was a great episode to end the season.
Overall I enjoyed the skits but I share the concern of several others about the amount of TV show scenes. We need to see more original skits when the show returns in 2024.
I would also like to see more actors (not comedians) taking part next season. Someone like Brooke Satchwell and Michala Banas.
Tonight was the only episode with the complete closing credits.
Agreed, disappointing and strange Micallef never appeared, not even as guest judge. Even Hamish came back despite his commitments with 9.
Have to assume he was asked and turned it down, unless there’s been some falling out? He’s never appeared on HYBPA either.
I wouldn’t overthink it. They only had a limited number of episodes to fill and just because Micallef didn’t appear/wasn’t asked/declined/whatever, does not indicate any sort of falling out. Sometimes things just don’t happen for a multitude of reasons, or no real reason at all.
That was a brilliant finale.
In most episodes, there was a skit or two that didn’t quite land (whether the performer wasn’t suited to the TGYH format or whether it was a lacking premise, or the premise didn’t fit the performer), I think they all stuck the landing with funny premises that were suited to the contestants (Marty as the Relationship Expert, and Guy as the Speak-Easy owner were especially perfect fits).
I hope it returns for a second run (hopefully a longer episode run, too).
Who thinks the show should comeback for another season?
How would you make it better?
Yes. Less reality show or chat show themed set ups.
I know it’s a budget thing, but I would bring back the Pre-Recorded challenge (Special Crimes Unit (https://youtu.be/Jq0E9QALDzE?feature=shared) from the old TGYH is something I’d go back and watch).
I also think casting is a bit hit and miss - of the new contestants, Virgina Gay was an inspired choice, with a legendary skit, and Emma Holland & Guy Monty could more than hold their own.
On the flip side, Arron Chen & Danielle Walker (as much as I enjoy them in other stuff), just didn’t suit the TGYH format - they only really delivered punchlines to the questions, instead of embracing the situation.
Was wondering before why she didn’t make an appearance given that she was fabulous when she was on previously. Turns out that she was battling illness.
Rest in peace.
Another classic from Cal Wilson. She never put a foot wrong in any of her skits, shame most have now disappeared from YouTube
It’s also worth pointing out the supporting cast working with the Cal’s responses and not correcting her to fit their script, which was far too common in this season.
I think that’s also down to the show being a few years in by that point. Everything’s back to square one for this year, but no doubt they’ll be back bigger and better next year.
Show is returning in 2024
What’s that? Why yes, #TGYH is BACK IN 2024 for Season 6 - keep your eye on @channel10au for info and head to 10 Play or @ParamountPlusAU to catch up on season 5! @CeliaPacquola #TGYHau pic.twitter.com/uhZzr8QhX7

I hope they don’t bring back the ones that flopped. Working Dog need to look out of their echo chamber. Nikki Osborne would be good on this!
Not sure who that guy was (Reminded me of a younger Joe Hockey) but damn he was terrible. Was catching up on the last 2 eps last night. The one where it was a wildlife park with kids visiting.
Guy Montgomery was freaking awesome . Mel from The Cheap Seats was funny too . I was hoping to have seen Tim . Maybe next time. Can’t believe Kitty was never on the original series. Felt like a Fisk reunion of sorts .
I don’t mind the shorter responses but that guy I mentioned in the first paragraph saying a 60 inch plasma tv was in the feeder box or something that made no sense. Like he couldn’t think what to say.
Hopefully Shaun Micallef is in it next year.
