I think the wrong tournament has main channel coverage. Should have been Brisbane International on Nine and United Cup on 9Go.
Had this been slated for prime time in full, with a bit of promotion, this could’ve been main channel nationally this evening and would’ve made for popcorn NYE sport entertainment.
I think Djokovic is scheduled instead on centre court in Brisbane.
Unfortunately Kyrgios went down in the third set tie break.

Canadian tennis star Gabriela Dabrowski has revealed she played through 2024 while battling breast cancer.
Dabrowski, who won the 2023 US Open doubles title, delayed part of her treatment so she could compete at Wimbledon where she made the final with Kiwi partner Erin Routliffe.
The 32-year-old, who is ranked No.3 in the doubles, posted a lengthy update on social media detailing her brave fight.

Young aussie Maya Joint went down to two-time and back-to-back Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka tonight at the Brisbane International, after taking out the first set in a tie break. It was a great match and comeback.
Meanwhile, fellow green and gold Jordan Thompson has taken to the court against an American, who appears to be causing some situation after a medical timeout, is it a blood nose?
And Alex de Minaur continued to look amazing, steamrolling through at the United Cup in Sydney for Australia, with doubles currently underway.
As action in Perth saw drama for Germany with Zverev pulling out and now the USA and China. Taylor Fritz is playing at the moment, on-air they pushed the 9Now live stream.
And earlier in the day, it was a big upset for Australian Kim Birrell, downing fancied US hard hitter Emma Navarro for the biggest win of her career.

Unfortunately, Australia cannot progress to the quarter-finals of the United Cup, they needed to concede no more than three games in the mixed doubles.
Losing the mixed doubles against Argentina ultimately proved costly.

I was hoping to see Djokovic or Aryna Sabalenka playing tomorrow but both their matches are scheduled for the night session at PRA tomorrow.
I’ll see Kimberley Birrell first up tomorrow morning so there will be an Aussie to cheer for 
And Frances Tiafoe later on tomorrow afternoon,playing the guy who knocked out Nick Kyrgios.

Wonder if there could be a few surprises this Aus Open, being the 120th Anniversary (we know how big 2005’s 100th went).
Such as the likes of Federer, Nadal, Murray, Serena, Sharapova, etc making special guest appearances. I mean if not now, when? Given Australia’s travel time/distance. Especially for a final proper farewell for Rafa, after his goodbye year and as he missed last summer by a narrow margin after injury in Brisbane.
