Saw a grab of Danielle Collins (and 2022 Ash Barty AO final runner-up) at the end of one of Nine’s teasers for the summer of tennis, from last year’s Aus Open, provoking the local crowd against the young Australian, which made global headlines and was a talking point for days especially infuriating Aussies.

Have seen a few articles on her recently too.

I reckon the media will pump up that storyline from 2025 and her a lot, could generate quite a bit of buzz and tension whenever she appears, tournament progression depending.

The UTS final was shown on the TNNS app.

Part of his departing coach’s statement was “I wish I could have continued”.

I think there was a fallout somewhere along the way.

Unsurprisingly, Australia’s Nick Kyrgios has defeated women’s world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the latest “battle of the sexes” exhibition match in Dubai.

In a widely criticised piece of entertainment marketed under the same banner of the era-defining match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973, Kyrgios won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in front of a sold-out crowd.

The riding in on a camel was ridiculous, such a hyped up spectacle.

Sabalenka played well, despite the ‘battle of the sexes’ 2.0 and changed conditions/rules. Kyrgios really is irrelevant now, at least from a competition standpoint, let’s be frank.

Interesting he has been given a wildcard to the Brisbane International, with the Oz Open TBA. Do think the summer is missing Perth’s Hopman Cup, IMO was a shame to see that slide by.

The whole thing was ridiculous I could barely get through the 10 minutes of high lights.

If they’re going to do a Battle of the Sexes, get the number 1 male and female player to compete against each other. Same sized court, reasonably same rules. Do it properly. Let’s see which set of chromosomes is the best.

This was sports washing at its best from the Saudis. And of all people…Kyrgios? Might as well resurrect Bobby Riggs.
