Ten Sport

You make a valid point… this is 10 and sports we are talking about.
I’d like to be optimistic about it though.
Does show 10 is getting sports and Paramount is interested though.

Because isn’t “Network 10” the brand in general and “(Channel) 10” the main feed? (Then there’s “10 Streaming”, which is a bit strange to read and say.)

That’s how we call it, right?

Because they can’t show UFC in a daytime slot. (I assume the marquee events will be the same as CBS on mostly Sunday nights US time?)

TBF the super said “Ten” which could mean anything for 10 (streaming, multi, main channel)
…maybe I’m reading too much into it

Not necessarily. It could also (whether in addition to or replacement of) just be the ones with Australian fighters in it.

“Channel 10” was mentioned verbally.

Even if only the preliminaries to UFC numbered events can be shown on 10’s main channel, it is great news for 10.

Hopefully there will be more details during 10’s upfronts next week.

I look forward to seeing how 10 completely squander the opportunity and under-perform with the UFC. They’ll probably stick it on 10Bold Drama and forget to promote it.

Announcement from Paramount 10 this morning

Fans will also be able to watch select UFC events on free-to-air television on Network 10.

“We will provide fans with the opportunity to watch UFC live on Paramount+ with selected events to be simulcast on Network 10, Australia’s leading network for younger people.

Do UFC have overlapping deals or have previous ones been short because I’d swear that they’ve had at least 3 local media partners in the last few years (fetch, fox sports and espn)

Good pickup for 10/P+ though

Shame they can never announce and surprise sports pick ups or a strategy of picking up other live events to scatter through the year. They need to go back to basics to try and get the larger sports trust them.

As well as second and third tier sports.

Yes with back to basics I meant second and third tier sports. Try to get sports on 12pm-5pm every Saturday and Sunday so there’s sports on (whatever) so people can see they can do sport.

The NBL is currently on 10 on Sundays at 2.30-4.30pm aedt.

But the cupboards are bear on Saturdays - and in winter when the NBL is done and dusted.

Ninja A-League is Saturday afternoon 2pm then early A League game at 4.30pm.

If 10 can get the rights to Australian hockey (currently streaming on 7plus) that should fill part of its winter schedule.

Have to wait until 2028 to try for that though.

Meantime, just hoping UFC will plug in some gaps.

Pretty sure 7 extended rights

Aussie Ice Hockey League perhaps?

Through EOY 2027 as I’ve mentioned.
