Ten Sport

Fantastic to see Channel 10 regain the A-League Soccer rights for the first time since May 2019. As well, good to see A-League soccer on the primary channel in HD, which is a one step up. Hopefully this will provide a boost in Saturday night ratings.

A new era for the A-League

Hopefully this works out for Ten and Paramount+.

Who knows, they may even bring back some mainstream interest back on the sport.

Yeh I hope it works. We all
Know that it won’t deliver huge numbers but hopefully the benefit for ten will be that it brings new eyeballs to their channels which may hopefully rub off on their other shows and that it helps to make their paramount plus offer more compelling and therefore profitable.
Hopefully they can put a little magic into the sport like they did to the big bash years ago. I would like to see them nab more coverage though ( like the international games and overseas leagues) so they truly become the home of soccer

Just throwing it out there, could we see Natalie Yoannidis as part of 10’s A-League/W-League coverage?

I’d say she’d be used someway, being former FSN.

Disappointing for Channel 10

Why isn’t Andrews replacing it with a virtual F1 Grand Prix?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the governing body of F1 take this off Australia for the future. We are fucking them around too much here.

Doubt it considering Melbourne/Australia isn’t the only place where an F1 round has been cancelled 2 years in a row - the same thing has happened with the Canadian GP as well

How are they getting fucked around? Its a pandemic ffs

We’re not the first - both Canada and Singapore have cancelled rounds and it will be interesting to see what happens to the 4 other major flyaways (USA, Mexico, Brazil, Japan). I wouldnt be surprised if the season compresses to just Europe and the Middle East (UAE/Bahrain/Saudi Arabia)

Spot on. The issue with the Australian GP, similar to Singapore, Vietnam, is that they all street circuits and all three have been canceled twice now.

As a result the logistics that goes into the events are too large to cancel at the last minute.

The cut off date was 10th of July, as track buildings, etc were to start to be built. Unlike last year, in which the track was fully operational, its better to stop the race going ahead now.

The F1’s have already said, they expected that races across the globe be cancelled due to the on going covid restrictions in each country.

The contract for the Australian F1 is expected to expire in 2025, the next big news is who has the TV rights come the end of the next season… but that’s for another thread.

Well… the World Endurance Championship have announced they aren’t going to Japan in September (two weeks before the F1 are due)

I have been waiting for 10 to pick up NSW horse racing. I thought they were busy with the Football rights, now I am not so sure now.

With the NBL rights up do we think 10/Paramount+ could go after the NBL rights?
