Ten News +

From the Herald Sun, again News Corp is incorrectly saying the ratings have plummeted below 100,000.

Network Ten’s new news offering has set tongues wagging for all the wrong reasons since replacing The Project.

It launched with just 291,000 viewers and has been in decline ever since, plummeting out of the nightly top-40 program list with fewer than 100,000 viewers on average across the country’s five-city metro market.

“This is a marathon, not a sprint,” a network spokesperson said in response, maintaining they were “fully committed to 10 News+.”

Do we have an actual figure for the 5city ratings though?

103k as of today

As Deal initially benefitted from the move but is now being impacted by the poor lead in it’s surely only a matter of time before the stinker at 6pm impacts the flagship 7.30pm shows too. Masterchef is likely holding up as it was two thirds through it season anyway so has built it’s audience for the season but the next franchise to come along may be impacted from the start.

I don’t think we’ve seen the 5-city data (though I’m sure @TV.Cynic can clarify if they are able to), so there is still a chance that the quote about it having less then 100, 000 viewers across 5-city data could still technically be correct.

The claim is incorrect for the 5-city ratings. The average last week 5-city was 118,000

I think the key test on the impact of prime time will be after Masterchef

With their season building toward a climax, one would assume their viewers will be more engaged and switch from their early evening routine to MC.

But with Survivor’s Aus/World mini season, Celeb TAR & BB starting up soon, the test will be if viewers find them (of the 3, Celeb TAR will probably offer the cleanest comparison, airing their 2024 season at a similar point in the year)

Lachlan at the desk for Mark Latham report.

Just a polished performer Lachlan Kennedy. Doing a great job breaking it all down for 10 News+.

I’d argue that as part of the format, more reporters in the studio engaging with the content from the desk and video wall. They have done it sporadically, but really needs to be more vibrant.

Amelia has become much better over the weeks but Denham is still the weak link in the presenting side. He just needs to be on the road reporting.

Finally using the right hand side screen for standing presentation.

Looks like that screen and the two vertical ones to next to them could do with coming down a tad, seem very high.

Lachlan confirmed to be hosting again tomorrow night with Ursula, was mentioned at the end of tonight’s show.

Also looks like a report from Queensland’s weather presenter Liz Cantor.

Just watched Brianna Parkins’ package on cost of living. Could not stand her presentation style. Ive heard better in regional news reports. Very sub-par for a national news reporter.

Is that who that was? I was trying to work out who the reporter was.

I’ve also noticed they’re not annoying the reporters anymore. It’s annoying when they don’t appear on screen to know who is voicing the reports.

Yup it’s Liz, not surprising she’s doing a weather related story. Has filed for Queensland’s bulletin before too.

I have noticed they don’t super the reporter from the start of the package, generally only if they’re seen - so if it’s just voiced then you miss who it is.

The bit with the two verticals screens is just too off putting, ruins the balance of the whole set.

Yeah they need to lower them to be in line with the 3 on the left and the far right one

Not just that it partially blocks the main display in some shots, should be pushed back to form a more cohesive set and remove the strange angles.

I think she’s fantastic. A unique and authentic delivery style and a definite rising star. Each to their own.
