Fuck this forum goes around and around and around…and around…and
Yep - remember, we spent a week closely dissecting a 3 second portion of a promo to determine if someone said yeah or here ![]()
Na dont bring me into this!

Still the number 1 topic of 2025.

Probably shows you how much I actually cared about it ![]()
That’s right if 10 News+ can attract even a semi-decent viewership base (say around 225,000/250,000 average per night). At least then you can make the plausible argument that 10 are happy to accept the ratings hit for the financial and content distribution benefits.
10 News +'s problem (among several key issues) is not only is it performing far worse than The Project did (hence the continued comparisons) but it’s difficult to justify the expense that has gone into a program which is failing to retain a significant portion of 5pm viewers.
Tomorrow’s (Tuesday) show will include a special interview with Pedro Pascal, according to a promo shown tonight.

The exclusive they need is that backpacker lost in WA. I’m sure all the networks would like that story.
Agreed. I’d be throwing everything at trying to get that interview.
Any sign of where the viewers have gone - have either of the 7/9 bulletins had a slight boost or maybe the 10 multichannels (whatever they’re called this week!).
Tge risk is you pack people off to streaming for the night but as 10 seems to be holding it’s audience after 7pm that is perhaps not the case.
That’s what I do but I come back for Have You Been Paying Attention and The Cheap Seats around 9pm. Recorded without ads.
it was a stupid slogan. Self indulgent. Trumpian.
Maybe because @KVZ gave a clear-enough reason (and plea to 10)?
I just rewatched that as I didn’t actually notice it watching live (was multitasking, oops!). So it would have been a prerecord, but interesting that it’s been edited well enough that you wouldn’t realise it’s been edited except for the mistake of repeating the same question/answer twice.
Perhaps ten should go down the game show path as an alternate to news on nine and seven. I’m
Over in the US at the moment and so many of the old formats are on here/still on here, mostly hosted by comedians or former talk show hosts.

News can work as an alternative, it doesn’t need to play for laughs like The P*****t either. But it needs to be light and appeal to the average punter rather than being a Walter Cronkite tribute act.
I do think just picking up and running the 7am hour of Sunrise at 6pm would basically work. Feels perennially overlooked as a viable format. Much less formulaic than 6pm news or ACA, with plenty of chat, interviews, hot topics, big chunk of the rundown given over to sports and entertainment, serious news when warranted.
Back on the 10th, Sunrise at 7am lead with:
- State of Origin result
- Trump tariff impact on pharmaceutical prices
- Michael Voss threats
- Man steals 53 right-footed shoes
- Red Bull F1 chief sacked
- Hugh Grant falls asleep at Wimbledon
Compared to TN+:
- Missing surfer found
- Sussan Ley exclusive interview about going camping 30 years ago
- Man bakes sourdough in outback
- Bookshop moves location
- Donald trump assassination anniversary
- Peanut farm closes
Speaks for itself, really. The difference between making a show that other journos want to watch, vs appealing to a mass audience.
A good article from TV Tonight about when 10 has previously held it’s nerve.
To me though the ratings are too low to do nothing and other shows had to change their format or move time slots to survive. I do think it probably should and will be given until the end of the year but I don’t think sticking to an hour a night and necessarily keeping the same hosts would be giving it it’s best chance - though of course with cost cutting a key reason for it’s commission in the first place they’re not likely going to be willing to drop two hosts and likely continue to have to pay them.
