News delivered differently
And as Iâve been telling you, I disagree.
They are currently airing the show you are suggesting and it isnât rating. You can disagree all you want but facts are facts and the figures say Australia says no to hard news at 6pm.
Exactly. You canât argue facts with âfeelsâ
The truth is, we would all like to think the population is interested in world events and major political machinations at home and abroad, the public simply are not.
Theyâre interested in what happens in their backyard, local crime and once-over-lightly political reporting.
@Global, while I do appreciate your support for a hard-hitting news program like 10 News+, the really is very few people are watching it.
Almost nobody to be precise. Itâs a failed program that needs to be axed ASAP. 10 News+ is nothing more than a shitshow, a ratings flop, and a program that has fallen victims to countless tongue-in-cheek mocks and memes regarding the program because of how it basically a Temu ACA.
And for as long as they keep pumping out this product, Network 10âs primetime ratings are likely going to suffer and be beaten out by Seven and Nine.
And yet because of long-term associated employments and âprideâ, thereâs a 50% chance it will return next year.
Talk about seeing a brick wall and speeding up.
Off-topic, but thatâs pretty much the norm nowadays. Heck, even ABC tops 10 some nights.
This would never happen but i would like to see them do a 30 minute â10 Evening Newsâ at 7pm. Surely it couldnât rate any worse then what Plus does.
If anything, Iâd say this program has about a 20-30% chance at best of returning in the new year.
Only if itâs local
I seem to remember Mal Walden hosting a 7pm 10 News over Summer in the 90s? I think it was local (to Melbourne).
I think it was 2001 that 10 experimented with Local news at 7.00pm in all cities. It was over the low rating summer months. It went up against ABC News.
2002
I would say about 99% chance of returning.
What are your thoughts on this? Should the program be coming back?
I think the show had real potential, but it was rushed to air far too soon after The Project was axed. The show just didnât have enough hard-hitting stories ready to go when it launched.
Do I think it should come back? Not in its current format - no.
There are some great people working on this , but I think the show would work much better as a once a week program.
Weâve been told itâs returning in 2026, but with some major changes on the way⌠which I canât reveal just yet. So hopefully itâll perform better next year.
Have had the same thought all along as Deal hasnât given any indication a returning show normally would.
Any reason why these changes havenât been implemented sooner? Why has it taken 4 months?
Thatâs a question for Dan, Martin and Beverley.
If one of the main problems originally was the show being ârushed to airâ perhaps they want to take their time and ensure any âmajor changesâ are well worked through before theyâre launched. And, new year, new programming, could be a bit of a reset opportunity rather than struggling through summer with another iteration thatâs rushed to air.
