Network 10 today announced that after almost 16 years and 4,500 episodes The Project will cease production.

The last episode will air on Friday, June 27.

From Monday, June 30 10’s early evening program schedule will be as follows:

• 5pm: 10 News local bulletins (no changes)

• 6pm: New one-hour national news, current affairs and insights program (name, hosts and further details will be announced in due course)

• 7pm: Deal or No Deal (moves from 6pm to 7pm)

There are no further details about the new national 6pm news, current affairs and insights show. Further announcements will be made in due course.

The changes to the schedule reflect the successful growth in audiences to the local news bulletins and coverage (the 10 News local bulletins are up 12% YOY). Our focus continues to be on serving our free-to-air audiences with more of the content they are increasingly watching.
