As an FYI Narelda is reading the Perth news from Sydney this weekend. Nothing is happening to the Perth studio but from what I’ve heard around the office she was here in Sydney and demanded to read and not take leave. It’s upset a lot of people that those in charged approved it to keep Narelda happy.

I still don’t know why they bothered keeping her to be honest. If she wanted to move back to Perth that’s on her. It was fine having Georgie read live for them and would have continued to save dollars.
Now they have Narelda there on weekends when they really don’t need to.
Extremely unnecessary. Not to mention from numerous comments on here she sounds like a very difficult person to be around.
Screams “entitlement” to me, sorry to say.

Absolutely. Sounds like she decided to go on holiday without proper leave approval and just expected she could present from Sydney. Martin is so weak. She walks all over him.

Same, other than Narelda and a few people on the ground in Perth isn’t everything else for that bulletin done out of Sydney, including sport and weather.

She had meetings with Martin several months ago about moving to Perth. Martin made the position for her to read from Perth, and less than 4 weeks later, she already stated she’s reading back in Sydney because she’s here for a commentator speaking gig. Other presenters are forced to take leave and can’t read interstate, but it seems things differ for Narelda. I don’t know about other states, but here in Sydney, we are confused about how it was able to be approved.

Who would normally fill in for Narelda if she’s on leave, someone in Perth or Sydney?
I guess she’s lucky that Sydney are already set up for Perth to be easily presented from Sydney. If she was wanting to read from Melbourne or Brisbane tonight it probably wouldn’t happen?
And it wouldn’t be possible for a presenter from any other state to read a local bulletin from Sydney because of the time zone clash. It’s only really possible for Perth.

So if any presenter was on holiday in Perth, they could read from the Perth set? Or during daylight saving time, if Sharyn were in Melbourne, would it be okay for her to read from the Melbourne set? No, it wouldn’t, and it makes us unprofessional.

I think people are missing the point here. It’s not about the ability to read from certain states, it’s the way Narelda just expects she can.
