This is an interesting pick up and I’m intrigued by the potential strategy here. Not sure expensive long form current affairs is worth the investment for 1 hour of content a week. Surely there would be a better strategy to invest the money in beefing up news content across the day and weekends.

Didn’t they loosely do that with 6PM/6.30 with George Negus in 2011?
I think it made sense to move what was 6PM to half an hour later, so it would go directly H2H with ACA/TT, but the show never rated well and copped the axe after 200 episodes in October 2011, replaced with an expanded Project.
