No reporters were lost during the centralisation, but @lexington have they had their days (hours) cut? With fewer Queensland stories, I haven’t seen a few reporters on the beat recently while I’ve seen the likes of Tim Collits file two a night.
No. Holidays, days off, morphing into a new format… all aspects contributing to this.
Clare Barnes was back today as an example.
There has been. Adelaide and Perth lost some. Not sure about the other states.
Newsroom staff were lost. Producers, journos, presenters are all included in that mix.
Wednesday (23.09.2020): Hugh Riminton is presenting the Sydney and Brisbane news tonight.
WHY can’t they get Bathie to fill in for Sandra?! (on a side note I didn’t tweet SS asking where she was tonight…last few times she hasn’t actually responded :weird:)
She doesn’t have to respond, she’s entitled to keeping her reasons private and to herself.
Yeah it is weird that she wants to keep her business to herself.
She doesn’t have to explain her absences to you…
As a newshound(and a newshound who hates unexpected change at that), I always wonder where my favourite presenters are when they don’t turn up. I honestly thought others felt the same??
It’s okay to wonder but it’s another thing to actually ask them and expect an answer.
It is weird that Sandra is off so much.
Because I think Chris is a freelancer, so it would cost them more to use Chris than someone like Hugh who is employed by the network
Sandra (and all us Journalists) don’t owe you or anyone else any explanations about our private lives. If we say the reasons why we’re off-air, we may tell you, but we’re under no obligation to do so.
Remember we are human beings who have our own lives and we are not at anyones beck and call.
Meanwhile.

Oh hey there partner and work wife @izzybello. Chuffed to have made finalist with you for @bandtaustralia Women In Media Awards.
In 2016, Isabel and I had four kids under the age of five between us when we decided to start a not-for-profit to tackle the shocking lack of diversity in newsrooms. You know how the saying goes, if you want to get something done get the busiest people you know to do it. Media Diversity Australia was launched in 2017 run by working journos and media professionals, with chapters in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
This year we released a landmark report, measuring the scale of the problem and reasons for and ways to address it. So while we may not be able especially popular among those in the industry who are resistant to change, in Isabel I have made a life long friend, an ally and a woman I have so much love and respect for.

Stephen Quartermain appeared on Studio 10 this morning from his home to talk about the death of Dean Jones.
Sunday: Lachlan Kennedy is presenting the national bulletin
Lachlan is presenting because Chris Bath is hosting on The Sunday Project tonight.
