As reported in the Studio 10 thread, Narelda Jacobs is leaving 10 News First Perth to move to Sydney and join Studio 10.
Wonder who her replacement could be? One would naturally think it’d be Chiara Zaffino.

Monika Kos could definitely work, it may even have the potential to boost numbers particularly at the 6-6:30 block. I am all for this, I hate seeing WA talent being shoved in a vault because there isn’t enough roles for them in the state.

While the thought of Monika Kos becoming the new lead newsreader of 10 News First is an interesting one, I don’t know why they’d do that when the newsroom already has at least three decent contenders for the role in Chiara, Lee and Natalie.
As for Narelda Jacobs, while she’ll be a massive loss to the Perth newsroom at the same time her move to Studio 10 will provide some much needed diversity to that show.
If she gets it, I can see numbers going down. She has no personality on air and don’t think she would be the right choice.

7’s loss can be 10’s gain. But how high can the pay cap go?
They would definitely be looking at someone like Monika Kos considering TT only finished recently. Another one they could be looking at is Dixie Marshall or maybe even poach Tim McMillan from Flashpoint.
They definitely need a big name to maintain their audience, and unfortunately Chiara doesn’t fit the bill.
