BRISBANE newsreader Georgina Lewis was left blaming herself after a suspicious mole she had left for years without getting checked became a stage one melanoma.
The 10 News First anchor, who is now in the clear after having the melanoma cut out from her left rib last month, told the Sunday Mail she was in tears and a state of “immediate panic” when she heard the diagnosis because she had ignored her doctor’s advice to have a biopsy on the suspicious mark years earlier.

Very much a high prevalence of skin cancer in Australian TV Journalists and Camera operators- especially those who’ve worked in regional news during their careers. I know some stations like TVQ have regular dermatologist checks for staff
