Ten News First Content and Appearance

Old intro back in Sydney today ‘this is 10 News First Sydney’ rather than ‘Made in Sydney’.

Error or permanent change?

Maybe they’ll use the control room for the late news again

Does seem a rather odd thing to do. Unless they plan to instal screens on it? Alternate presentation angle? Late news? Who knows. There would surely be a reason.

Possibly technical issues? I noticed during the sports preview that the graphics from when they first launched the studio was being used on the screens.

Plus no feature graphics on the first story, despite Sandra standing. And the weather graphics during the afternoon news failed to show.

Interesting rundown in Qld tonight, airing a NRL story just before the first ad break about Daly Cherry-Evans exit from Manly from Sydney’s Trent Simpson.

What the… ?

Seems strange that they’d only do that one portion if they intended to have it all one colour. You’d think they’d paint it all in one go?

It use to be white in 2020 (thanks to the Studio 10 thread)

Queensland captain/halfback. Major story today. I think it’s probably the right call.

But we’ve been told Queenslanders don’t care about sports during the news, they don’t do a sports preview earlier in the bulletin etc, and there was no local angle to the story and was voiced by an out of state reporter.

I have no idea about the significance or weight of the story from a local perspective not being a NRL follower, just struck me as a bit of an odd choice so early in the bulletin.

It was white Thursday last week.

During a report by Lachlan Kennedy tonight on Sydney’s news, it featured an infographic using a different shape design then usual. Looks nice:

Definitely looks different, a bit more “on brand” with fonts, colours etc.

Not bad.

Apologies - I thought you meant it is now white and use to be black.

It also seems like a different VO from what was used before the “Made in Sydney” one

Much cleaner, but still way too much blue on that set

How about 10 News Melbourne. If they want to push localism, dump that useless word and put the city name in the full title, all the time. Push, push, push.

It has been around for a few months.
