There was a storm that afternoon IIRC.
Back to normal opener for 10 News Queensland.
What has 10 got planned for the weekend given their usual skeleton staff on the weekend.
Good question. You would expect QLD to have local news tomorrow.
Rather, Iâd expect no focus on Sydney/Melbourne and everything to be cyclone focused from Sydney like afternoon news during the week has been. Be interesting to see though if they get Chris in or use Sharyn presenting from Brisbane.
They also have Perth going for the election so it will be interesting to see if they use Perth presentation for any of the east coast coverage with no presenter in Sydney.
Since the 10 Late News is pre-recorded, Iâm surprised they didnât fix Joshâs microphone issue and re-record that part.
It was meant to be live tonight iâm pretty sure. Odd that they prerecorded it.
I just compared some of the YouTube version and whatâs being broadcast now, and itâs different - maybe parts being updated?
Broadcast version has live straps on crosses, no audio issues as Ursula threw to Josh in studio for an update etc.
Came here to say the same thing. Maybe they prerecorded one quickly just for digital first. Could explain why it wasnât changed.
Not often you see a 5 way live cross on the late news!
Thatâs so strange and unexpected that theyâve recorded a different version of the bulletin for YouTube!
If I had to guess, probably for their digital first strategy to premiere on YouTube / 10 play consistently at 10pm AEDT / 9pm AEST each night.
If theyâre already there and doing to go live anyway, it does seem a bit strange but this is 10.
10âs QLD 5pm bulletin hit 94,000 yesterday in the latter stages (metro).
Noticed here that you can see the 10 logo behind the âNews Firstâ on Georginaâs wet mic flag, must be just a sticker over the top either side.
Issues in Queensland tonight, first few crosses and package played fine but when they got to Tiarni Reid and started overlaying vision her audio was really buggy.
They went back to Sharyn who was initially muted but said she believed they had a package Tiarni filed earlier they could go to, but instead they played a package voiced by Josh Addsett.
Also looked like possible issues with the prompter when they started tonight, with Sharyn seen reading from her scripts.
Edit: Qld getting their own control room really couldnât come quick enough! At the end of tonightâs bulletin during the closer, someone could be heard saying âSee ya. Thank youâ
Sadly, back in the green room tonight.
10 will only air a 60 min bulletin this Saturday night due to Aus Grand Prix coverage, which ends at 5:30pm AEDT.
It will only be on a half hour delay in Brisbane, with an episode of Bondi Rescue sandwiched either side of the bulletin between 5-6pm AEST.
Adelaide will be live straight after race coverage, and Perth will get the bulletin at 5-6pm local time also.
Does that mean no local Perth bulletin on Saturday?
I wonder if the reduced Saturday coverage (while racing related) and things like using Liz for reporting and Josh on weather in Brisbane is the cost of the extra live coverage during the cyclone and Perth election - eg: they need to balance the budget somehowâŚ
Assume it will still be a seperate Perth bulletin at 5pm local time, as it usually is.
Theyâre just only doing 60 min bulletins across the country on Saturday, no idea why some states couldnât get 90 mins as usual but maybe theyâre just using the opportunity to save on costs.
