Have 10 taken all of the HD equipment to London?! Some of the footage in local stores looks like it’s been shot on an iphone4 and playback of graphics in packages lookworse than SD

Give at a fucking rest champ. You’ve banged on like this since they nixed it 2 years ago. I can guarantee they’re not reading your posts and will decide to change their minds.

Guaranteed if they hadn’t have done anything you also would’ve been up in arms.

About five people ramming a man’s car then stabbing him to death in broad daylight, in front of a gym?

The same story, if it happened in Sydney, would’ve been a national story with significant coverage.

Why don’t they just get Jennifer and Sandra to just co anchor together for the first 15 minutes? Then cut back to the studio for local news? They’re literally both there reading the same information.

What’s the point in that?

If they’re throwing back to the studio for the rest of the bulletin, there was no need to send two presenters. Sandra’s more recognised nationally and has covered the major royal events for years so 10 should have just sent her.

Why does this bother you so much?

So they don’t need to prioritise between live crosses etc. also, as others stated, you could (slightly) here the other presenter.

TBH we could do without any newsreaders being sent over to London, but given that they are there I don’t really see the need to have them present in tandem or tag team. Jennifer Keyte reports to her audience, and Sandra Sully to hers. The slight spillover of the audio from one to the other is negligible from what I’ve seen.

Sandra who ???

Audio seemed better today - no background noises.

Have to say I’m preferring the Sydney approach to this London set up rather than the Melbourne approach. Sandra introducing the headlines etc and the opening shot of London actually gives the impression of anchoring the bulletin from London where as the approach with Jen seems to be a bit more run of the mill reporter with Candice anchoring the bulletin from the studio.

The structure was a lot more local today. Must’ve been a pre-record for Brisbane.

Royal promo voiced by Sandra ending with “Switch on 10 News First at 5” (rather than Switch on Sandra).

Jennifer reading tonight national bulletin from London. I would say Sandra will read tomorrows.

Chris Bath taking over with local news.

Jelissa wasn’t mic’d up properly for the sport preview before the break just then, Chris has to improvise and the read some of it herself adding some commentary to the effect of “… and this is why I don’t read sport”.

Ten News really needs to drop the “first” bit. It makes no sense these days. They’re not first in the mornings, nor the evenings, and given they choose not to have rolling coverage of many big events, they can’t claim to be first then either.

First has more than one meaning. 10’s slogan is that they “put news first”. Concentrating on news reports without all those ACA-like reports seen on Nine and Seven. Nothing to do with timing, rather priority. Whether they deliver is another matter. Though truth in advertising in TV promos isn’t a strong point.
