Ten News First Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Yeah, Josh did a couple of the bulletins last year - at least one from Adelaide then he was in Sydney for a bit.

Great fill in and good to see them considering people from around the newsrooms.

Classic 10, they’ve uploaded yesterdays national evening bulletin as Sydney’s news

What happens when the social media people are majority Sydney focused.

Santa tracker last night was done from Brisbane.

One day in the wrong place - not great but sure.
Three days later and they’re still uploading the national bulletin to the Sydney page . Very poor.

Last night (presumably) of the current set before the upgrades happen.

As far as we know, flooring is being replaced.
Hopefully they take the opportunity to freshen the aging elements such as the desk riser which has had noticable damage for a few years.

I’m dreaming here, but would love to see a new desk / couch combo to just really freshen things up a little more.

Both have had their day after 6 nearly 7 years I think it is now, and after some solid use during that time are really showing signs of wear & tear.

Do they use the couch these days (apart from when they are having technical difficulties with the main desk)?

I agree though that the desk is showing some wear in it.

And although unlikely, hopefully they can program some of the unique shots into the system when it becomes automated.

Really only used for sports programming now, plus The Weekly Kick Off etc.

I was going to suggest doing away with it and making it a standing presentation area.

Everyone ready to experience the Melbourne 10NF set from tomorrow?

Hold on, since when have they been getting a new floor?! Or am I living under a rock? :joy:

Under a rock I think

It’s been discussed for a while that this coming week the Sydney set is having its flooring replaced.

The assumption is so they can use robotic cameras to control the bulletins - hence the studio job redunancies.

Funnily enough - when the current set was launched there was a desk for standing presentation from memory, Don’t think they ever actually used it.

Would be nice if they brought back the late news control room background to the left of set (and sometimes seen in current wide shots) for late news.

It was used on Studio 10 when the newsreader stood in front of the controlroom window.
