Lucky that building had its address posted on the wall.
Wouldn’t it be great if Sharyn Ghidella was on the phone to 10 next week about how she could boost their local news ratings with a locally based bulletin.
She’d be a brilliant get for 10, as would’ve Kendall Gilding. But I doubt Sharyn would come cheap.
Yep agree, but I just can’t see 10 launching a local news bulletin anytime soon, not in this current climate. Especially with the Paramount merger.
I mean beggars can be choosers, if the options are Nil Income V Reasonable Income…
Especially if it gets them a handsome return on investment. Or at least gets them past Seven in the ratings.
10 News is taking CBS coverage from the U.S.
10 also crossing to a Associated Press reporter Philip Crowther at about 17:15 in Milwaukee, ahead of the Republican Convention starting there tomorrow.
You wonder why they haven’t dispatched their US correspondent to Milwaukee as yet. She was in Miami Florida. The use of Kathryn Firkin is quite bizarre at times.
I’ve noticed this, I think they make some allowances because she’s still got a fairly young child. Believe she often operates as a video journalist in a number of circumstances too shooting and filing her own stories. Might be easier to use freelances who are already in locations as needed.
Yes you are right. I also don’t think they seek accreditation to many of these press events so she can’t really add anything from outside.
She use to file from NYC quite often but is sometimes in Miami. Not sure where she is based these days. She also doesn’t do a location sign off on generic US stories she voices.
JP Gonzo does an outstanding job with the limitations he has from 10 in Europe, I’d like to see a beef up in the US.
Katherine is also a freelancer VJ for 10. So, she normally files from wherever she is at the time in America.
Sounded like Chris was about to throw to the graphic which then failed but her lack of standing presentation bemuses me sometimes…
Re Katherine Ferkin… suppose it comes down to money and time… could pay to fly her around but is it really worth it when 10 is run on a shoestring and they can draw on CBS resources.
10 rarely utilises the resources of CBS in full, which is quite disappointing. When CBS took over Ten in 2017, the relationship was much closer, with 10 often preparing packages for CBS use with a CBS sign off.
However, this no longer occurs and the relationship took a different path when Viacom came onboard. It’s all surprising since Martin White and Rashell Habib went to New York to meet with Ross Dagan to discuss working more closely together.
Lauren Linder has been the first CBS reporter to file a report for 10 in months if not more.
10 will though use a CBS package for a filler if needed.
Maybe she was on holidays?
I think I have seen CBS reporters on the Midday News this year quite frequently mind you.
Those are CBS packaged reports, which are utilized by 10 where needed. Previously the network used to tap into CBS Newspath (their news gathering services used by affiliates) journos, often live etc.
The filed stories they use now often include CBS graphics, and they cut off any sign-off and Narelda or whoever will read out the reporters name at the end.
