not live on YouTube though interestingly enough…
Good to have Ash Raper & Sarah Navin reporting live from Canberra at the top of the bulletin.
First 10 mins or so dedicated to Assange, before moving on to other stories.
I’m watching in 10 Play, surprisingly the quality via AppleTV is quite good.
Was discussed above, they shared on socials earlier that it wouldn’t be available on YouTube tonight.
I’m sure they’ll have some clips up on there soon.
Edit: now up
Lots of crosses to Canberra today during Midday given the news of Assange, aside from the initial cross to Chloe Bouras at the top of the bulletin most of them pre-recorded.
A later cross to Foreign Minister Penny Wong halfway through the bulletin had the ‘look live’ transition play out at the beginning of the cross and then strangely again when it went to full screen picture of her from the two-way screen.
10 will show the debate from 11am tomorrow, as mentioned during the Afternoon news today.
Sounds like it will be introduced by Narelda, she said she hoped viewers could join her.
EDIT: Midday will only be half an hour today to accommodate the Presidential Debate running until 12:30pm.
Tonight during Deal or No Deal at 6.25pm they played a news update. Believe this is the first time they’ve done so during DOND.
Good to have. Should have it as an extended update with a short look at the top stories and weather forecast.
Tonight’s national bulletin with Chris Bath used the voice over
“This is 10 News First from Gadigal country” for NAIDOC week
Be good if they did it for the state bulletins this week though might be a bit difficult with Adelaide/Brisbane.
Why Adelaide?
Because it’s presented from both Sydney and Adelaide
Easy - just say “live across Turrbal and Yuggera country, this is 10 News”
But did Chris say ‘good evening’?
You’d have to drop the ‘live’ and ‘across’ is a problem when you’re talking about a whole state.
Which highlights to viewers in others states that the bulletin is coming from Sydney. I suppose many already know that anyway.
Don’t reference it at all. Saves many issues.
Maybe they should spend a little more money on actually having separate bulletins for Turrbal and Yuggera country again.
They (10) are currently looking at that. Although no definite guarantee that it will return to a separate bulletin.
It is promising that they at least acknowledge that something needs to change.
NAIDOC Week voiceover used in Queensland tonight, with some interestingly used Meanjin (Brisbane).
