Definitely presented from the couch because of the technical issues - always presented from there if any do occur.
Love the tight split screen like Nine has done. Wouldn’t mind 10 doing the same.

10’s video is the same as Nine’s. ABC and Seven had separate vision.

I must say tho, considering 10’s package is almost 6 years old, it has held up incredibly well. Still looks quite fresh.

Sounds like the Late News might be live today. Narelda said there would be a special edition of the late news for the Julian Assange press conference at 10:35.

Wonder what prevents them from streaming it live on youtube though ?
Because when it is ‘live’ on youtube it’s just the pre-recorded bulletin.

The YouTube stream is usually live, is it not? So don’t see why they couldn’t do it tonight at the later time.

Ad breaks? Would probably just be blank screens with “your stream will return soon” for the entire break.
Nothing different to what is used on 10play or what US networks do for YouTube live streams. Just seems silly to not do it tonight in light of the news. Capitalise on it and get eyeballs on the bulletin

Presented as a “live stream” but it’s just the recorded bulletin playing out in full with 10play watermark and all after being ingested into their systems.
They go to a break and it returns straight away. There’s no ads inserted at all. Great if you don’t want to watch with ads

They aired a live bulletin a few weeks ago with some other breaking news which happened late evening.

They’ll just clip the important bits from the bulletin and upload those as they usually do? They do better anyway and get more views.
Not having it streaming live on YT as a one-off is not a big deal IMO. Rather have it live and up to date on broadcast.

I remember at least one instance in 2003 when the Late News (and Sports Tonight) did not air until 1:00am in the morning. If I remember correctly, it would’ve been on Anzac Day, which that year fell on a Friday, and Network Ten aired a rare Friday night premiership match between the Sydney Swans and Melbourne as Nine had aired the Anzac Day match between Essendon and Collingwood earlier in the day.

10 managed to get this up on 10 play, promoting a “very special edition” of 10 Late News tonight not just live, but LIVE.
