Ten News First Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Interesting to hear that they kept the pieces - not sure how any of them would be useful considering how small the space now is in Adelaide.
Does the Adelaide building have any free/bigger areas that they could potentially (although clearly unlikely) move a set to?

Strongly doubt any of that would ever happen.

Alan or Tiff could be a possibility full time if Kate ever stood down but if that were to happen it it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to get someone from another network (though these days likely of a lower profile for 10 to be able to afford them).

They could maybe reconfigure the newsroom like they did in 2011 (IIRC there were some meeting rooms or edit suites next to set in the old building). Possibly just have the view of the CBD in the background (if possible) to add to the local feel.

Would be hard to get anyone big, except maybe Jess Adamson.

Happy memories of my trip to Adelaide the other week - great city

It’s not about her not wanting to relocate. She relocated from Adelaide to Melbourne when the Franken-bulletins came in and is now based in Sydney where the Adelaide bulletin is presented from.

It’s about 10 management reinstating a local bulletin on the cheap.

They present from Adelaide with the fill-ins. They chose to anchor it from Sydney because Kate’s partner was moving there for work. Kate is the reason they are not presenting it completely from Adelaide.

Only reason Kate is there is because they had to find her something to do, and because she is the only presenter from when Bec was presenting that is still there, so many would recognise her as local talent.

Like I said, move Kate to the late news, and have Allan and/or Tiffany present.

I believe she is doing it from Sydney due to here husband and personal reason. It was stated last year.

100%, make your choice. Kate is fine but she’s certainly not worth bending over backwards to accommodate.

Love Tiff doing the weather, but as a news reader not so much to be honest.

Love the idea!!!

Sure is!

From what I’ve seen, I prefer Tiffany to Kate.

The intro voice over for afternoon news has changed. No longer Sandra and, rather, the same as every other bulletin.

Also, have headlines been dropped from the start of the Brisbane bulletin? Seems to just be intro and then straight to top story on 10play but might just be how the episodes have been uploaded.

I prefer Alan to both of them. A bit of experience and authority wouldn’t go astray on that bulletin.

Still headlines in Queensland.

Seems they managed to get Jennifer Byrne to record the new intros?

Possibly got Sandra to do it due to unavailability of Jen?

Er, some questionable product placement for Paramount+ here.

Not sure you would see this on any other commercial broadcaster, as well during their lunchtime news updates have the 10 logo on those screens so was clearly changed for the bulletin.

Pretty sure we have seen 7+ and 9Now logos in backgrounds on news broadcasts before

Really? Can’t say I’ve come across it, especially not for a paid streamer. Can’t ever recall 9 blatantly promoting Stan in a news broadcast like that.

Be a bit different if it was showing 10play, it would be borderline acceptable there as it’s a genuine way to watch or catch up on the news.

But the way they’ve done it is essentially just a big ad for Paramount+, normally they’ve had to declare commercial interests, or reflect they’re a sponsor etc wouldn’t they?

It’s part of the same business so it wouldn’t need to be declared simply for being in the background of the newsroom. They’re not covering it.

Interesting, wonder why Nine declare Stan as being a commercial interest during Today?
