But the windows would have an amazing garden view if they didnt close them up by adding a building (FROM WHAT I CAN TELL)

Wow great photos that I’ve never actually seen before. Get to work on those mocks GradyACN
Most are from Architectural Firms who have done work on the building, I found searching the most generic terms or looking at related images gets you those types of images.
What’s the 6th level addition you’re referring to?
In this on the left photo the top floor is closed off with windows, Apparently, they added another floor of offices.
Which is shown here which also shows the stairs to the additional level
More details here.
and the details for other addition here and here.
Great finds @theGradyConnell
I’m gonna add to this now and for those interested.
NINJA EDIT: Here’s another video showing another angle of the late news (TV.Cynic uploaded this, again) at 4:37.
And of course where the First at Five news was presented has been covered above.
Geez I’m starting to think you guys are planning a robbery of Pyrmont
Not quite. Haha.
But having information about the building helps me develop my mock studios for real world use or how one would fit into such a space.
I forgot to add the building is 6levels if I’m not mistaken.
2 below the main newsroom floor and then 4 above including the 6th floor outdoor patio area.
Any time from 6pm should work.
Can you imagine the sh*t hot sets that could be built in that space? If Ten had the $$ and vision, a total newsroom makeover would be amazing.
What is everyones view of the lighting - natural sunlight vs today’s darker neon?
Personally I think it would be nice for Pyrmont to have both like they use to - have a bright natural busy daytime look for the 5pm news (and mid morning news if returned) and (if Late Edition returned) turn on the neons for a moodier broadcast.
Yes, they had a great setup from 1997-1999. The area does seem a little miss matched now and dated in parts.
Agreed, 5pm the windows should be open.
I am working on a design it will take a few days but I think/hope it will be something ten can achieve.
The only other bulletin on FTA at 5pm is ABC News: Early Edition & ABC News 24 Afternoons. (Oh and those local bulletins in Adelaide & Perth on Nine. Which will be moved to 4:30pm)
Nine Perth hasnt had local 5pm back for about 6 months now.
Weird. Emmy tweeted me saying they were getting it underway…
Maybe they are bringing it back?
I know a lot of people still refer Ten eyewitness news as simply just “Ten News”, so would it hurt if ten dropped the “eyewitness” out of its name?
If ten (hopefully) one day, does expand its news service, I think Ten Eyewitness News could be a separate news bulletin thats more comprehensive.
Eg. Ten Morning News, Ten News at five, then Ten Eyewitness News. As Eyewitness sounds more authoritive.
I know what you’re saying but “Ten News” is just a colloquial shorthand (how many people back in the day shortened National Nine News to just Nine News?), “Ten Eyewitness News” sounds better, and - like SBS World News - it would keep the name of Ten’s news a different than the plain Seven News, Nine News, ABC News.
(Nice logo in the avatar by the way.)
