Bit of a different opener last night to the Sydney news

Looks good, I like that theyā€™re experimenting outside of just using those standard blue and white globe backdrops.

10ā€™s COVID-19 graphics received a rather unflattering mention on At Home Alone Together on the ABC last night.

Some new style social media graphics from 10

I see a concentrated effort

Are they promoting the socials during the broadcasts?

In light of not having a URL or website to promote, the socials need to be promoted by the hosts and with play on from break / play odd to Break graphics

Also, the bug Should animate and show the socials and they should be added to news updates too

Yeah, they definitely have more resources focused on their main news social media accounts rather than previously just sharing 10 daily content.

From what Iā€™ve seen, they donā€™t do much to promote their social channels through the bulletin - except Sydney I believe with the small ticker under the bug though Iā€™m not sure itā€™s still being used?

There is also one early on in Sydney / national bulletins I believe on the top RHS which promotes being able to live steam the bulletin on 10 play.

As I mentioned previously, they still have a a strap after returning from an ad break (at least in Brisbane) which says ā€œFor more information go to:
10play.com.auā€ which is lazy and was just updated from the 10 daily URL when the service was scrapped.

So much more could be done to better integrate socials into the bulletin and vice versa, for such little effort.

Very true Iā€™m already in the habit of checking Sky News, Nine News and the Sydney Morning Herald when I wake up in the morning, Ten need to find and focus on a particular audience fast, offer something different.

Would a Headline News format work for 10,

6-9am?

Like The CW / MyNetworkTV is Doing in the US

New breakfast Headline News service launching in US

Great to see 10 experimenting with the set:

Looks nice, although the seating is really unnecessary for the 5PM bulletin. Just have the screen by itself.

SKY News already produces Headline news, channel 603.

Yes, we are talking about Network 10 @PaulMurrayViewer

To clarify, a Headline News-like format. Also @KICK-IT, those CW and My network staions are owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Correct. Seems like it would be the cheapest format and the only one that doesnā€™t exist for most viewers

Iā€™m aware just pointing out this format is already in use here in Oz. Ten should look at local news for Breakfast as like whats done in North America.

Too expensive to set up. Overall cost are too high.

@PaulMurrayViewer but not to the majority of Australians on a FTA network in the big markets. It would be a good counter format to the magazine shows on 9, 7 and abc

@BJT2 not really expensive, stations all over Canada and the US in markets the size of Tasmania do morning news shows itā€™s just aussie networks have no interest allocating finds to local breakfast shows

This again?

Thereā€™s an abundance of competition in breakfast already, if 10 were to expand its news service it should be late primetime where thereā€™s an audience and no competition from local news. But 10 have only recently added 6pm so I doubt thereā€™s an appetite to expand anyway.
