10daily is the website. That’s never going to change.
Amazing right!?
That’s a shame because it’s definitely the wrong decision.
7 and 9 news have their own dedicated and very successful sites.
Does 10 put full bulletins online like 7 and 9? The ones I’;m being are 5 days old…
Both of you (and now I) have just contributed to that.
So does 10.
No it doesn’t.
10daily is that website. Just like ninemsn was and yahoo7. The difference being 10daily is in house.
There is sufficient 10 news first branding on the website.
Not like Seven and Nine do. At the moment, news is a subsection of the 10daily website which is a blend of content types kind of similar to the old Yahoo7 where news was a subsection of the main website. Seven and Nine now have fully separate news sites.
It’s like if 10daily.com.au and 10newsfirst.com.au were fully separate sister websites.
That is a valid Ten address that redirects to
https://10daily.com.au/shows/10-news-first
-
A lack of clear dedication to kids TV - that employs dozens of staff in Brisbane and is the stepping stone for young presenters in this country.
-
A lack of persistent marketing for their news service. 7 and 9 run localised promos promoting the news service in general AND a local story.
-
For whatever reason they still cant get HD bulletins to air.
That was the next thing I was going to say.
And localised domains link to their sections.
Things I’ve learned in this thread today;
- 10 are still a bit rough around the edges
- Matlock is still alive and well (hey man)
- KICK-IT can’t string a bloody sentence together until he’s had his morning coffee
Thank you.
10 Daily is not a news website.
10 News does not have a news website.
10 Daily is designed not primarily to give people news 24/7 but to create chatter - around Ten shows, social issues, buzzy news and tech. Even 10 calls it :
10 Daily - the official online ‘home’ of Network 10’s noisy shows like The Bachelorette , The Project and I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here means we have a really powerful and unique proposition for brands to partner with.
It’a more like nine.com.au.
It’s not a news website the way 9News…com.au, 7news.com.au, ABC.net.au/news or SBSNews.com.au are news websites.
This is true. Haha
I agree. It doesn’t fit in with the 10 News First brand at all. It’s more suited for promoting their regular programming.
Have to agree with that. I can tell you right now, I wouldn’t be going to 10daily for the lates news.
Look, I get that lexington is a big fan of Ten and/or might have connections to those who work there. That’s fine, the forum rules state that well reasoned support of a particular program or network is allowed for as long as such support doesn’t result in posts drifting into “meaningless promotion” territory (or similar).
But surely Media Spy should be allowed to make valid criticisms about Network Ten for their various shortcomings, just as we do with those of Seven & Nine? Anyone who’s read my posts (particularly over the last year or so) should be aware that I’ve given “the big two” their fair share of heat whenever I feel it’s warranted.
Surely one can think that 10 Peach’s childrens programming output does a great job of producing new talent while simultaneously asking legitimate scheduling questions?
If there are any clear answers to Toasted TV’s recent mysterious break(s) or Fraiser airing instead of Totally Wild at 10.30am yesterday, I’d like to hear them in the most relevant thread! ![]()
Surely most would agree that “persistent marketing” is a major reason why Seven & Nine have the #1 and #2 ranked news services in most if not all markets?
Meanwhile I’ve heard “it’s not in primetime” as a reason for Ten infrequently promoting their 5pm news bulletin in the past, despite the fact that Seven/Nine did and still do regularly air promos for their 5pm gameshows in primetime.
Personally, I hope there’ll be upgrades sometime in 2020. Although with the rate things have been going recently, unfortunately I wouldn’t be overly surprised if the cash-strapped ABC beats CBS-backed 10 News First when it comes to producing/airing HD news in all markets! ![]()
In any case, I look forward to reading more contributions from lexington in the future…even though I may not always agree with your opinions.
This is not true, The Simpsons was extremely successful for a long time at 6pm. It even beat 7 and 9 News in the 16-39 demo most nights for a period of time.
