I wonder why 10 News First doesn’t code their news into 30 minute intervals- like the 6pm News, The Project and the gameshows? I assume it would result in the 5pm slot being bumped up the ranks (because it is the news switch over that drags down the average).
What about all those Sydney viewers who tune in for the weather? 
Not sure which 1/2 of the news would rate higher - there is probably also a turn on across the hour while some might watch just the headlines then switch to a game show.

I’m guilty of watching it for the opener, then usually the first few stories then changing to watch something else

Yep. I’m probably reading into this too much, but it makes you wonder if there are tentative plans to possibly launch a late night bulletin at 9pm? Otherwise, it seems pretty bizarre that the PRG would specifically refer to what’s coming up as “The Late News”.

That didn’t even cross my mind, lol. Pretty poor attempt at humour I must say! The majority of viewers would probably perceive it as being an error like I did.

It’s just a news update.
Perth’s news used to get 100,000’s … so did them all. But total viewers, and thousands of viewers is meaningless when comparing to older data.
The question is, what’s the percentage of total viewers?

The mass switchover occurs between 5:58pm and 6:01pm.

10 News First (Sydney / national) looks absolutely stunning. The most innovative news pres Oz have ever seen I think. So fear and Euro like and a little aussie still. Great job really slick
