Just come across this page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/10NewsDarwin/
I think that everyone involved would hate that. Sorry!
Feel free to hit me up for your next tv set, trade show, retail fitout orā¦ any of the million things we design and build.
Are you guys involved with the roll out of these sets to other cities?
Figured thatād be the case haha.
Nonetheless, certainly one of the best sets in this country, so kudos to you guys (and the 10 team)!
Had a look at the page and couldnt find that sponsored post but did find a pic of the 10 news melbourne team
Weird that Jen didānt cross to Stephen Quartermain for a Sports Preview like she Normally Does Tonight give St. Kildaās Coach Resigned.
Quiet a few darwin news related posts on that page now as well so will be interesting to see how it turns out but i would just say its probs just a updates page by the 10 darwin team
Simpsons meme. Thatās a win from me
How many journos and staff do Ten have stationed in Darwin? And how many do Seven have? IIRC Seven had to fly a team up there when the Darwin shooting happened.
How do those numbers compare to Nine and ABC which actually have bulletins there?
So the 10 News First Darwin page on Facebook is being run by 10 Darwin (SCA/Nine)?
10 has two casuals directly from 10 Corporate and Seven has no one in terms of news
The sales teams in Darwin are employed by SCA and Nine
Iād say so, the content is hyper local and the contact info is for 10 Darwin, suggesting itās being managed locally.
A little surprising that 10 would let them create a social page under the News First branding with no local news being produced on-air for the channel.
They already have a 10 Darwin Facebook page which has over 3500 likes which they could have otherwise used.
Overall I donāt think itās a bad idea to have a Facebook with updates. Itās better than Sevenās āDarwin News Updateā which posts nothing news related.
I personally think they could have Jennifer in Melbourne to record a local update to play during the day? Itās strange being in Darwin and hearing āItās currently 14 degreesā
Doing the rounds on reddit today
Post just went up on 10 Darwin
Can we weave in random theory and speculation about how much it would take to change the license conditions in the territory to allow 10 instead of the 7/9 JV to run DDT? Genuinely curious how this might go out of pure fantasy.
ā¦
99% sure weāve done that before. Thereās discussion following on from this post in the Imparja thread:
and this in the SCA Nine thread:
I was about to mention that the post you quoted is incorrect, but sure enough I replied to it in the thread it was posted in. Ten would be perfectly allowed to light their money on fire and purchase the Ten Darwin license, as could WIN.
10 Darwin is too cheap. They charge $590 per month ($7080 a year) for a prime time advertising package and you get more than what you pay for in terms of ad slots. 10 Darwin also likes to offer 5 local terribly edited segments to āsupport local businessesā but itās just giving away free advertising which takes up half of an ad-break.
Meanwhile at Nine and Seven they are charging upward $20,000 a year for advertising, especially at Nine as they have a prime time news bulletin as well as high rating programs and the NRL which is also popular in Darwin along with the AFL on Seven.
So if 10 were to purchase the station back, they would most likely increase advertising fees, which means advertisers potentially leaving the network due to the current downturn of the economy in Darwin and being forced to pay additional fees for the same service as before.
The only reason why Nine has a share in 10 Darwin is because Channel Eight (as it was back then) used to air both Nine and Ten programming, so when SCA came into the picture they basically made a separate channel to cater specifically for 10 programming.
