Looks like Studio 10’s fake news style news graphics. Not the biggest fan but is better than the old, beige, gaudy blue.
Theme is quite good, but 10 News First still sounds atrocious as a title. Would still prefer either 10 News or 10 Eyewitness News.

if you want to really hear the theme, wake up at the wee hours for the weather insert of CBS This Morning, they normally have about 60 seconds of clean audio.

I taped that. I have always liked map backdrops that get it right.
I think the world should be a bit bigger (on a more grand-looking scale).

As for the globe, they might need a new plasma in Sydney. Looks so dull and dated unlike the graphics.

Not a fan, and here’s why:

Too much white, too much icy blue. It feels cold and unfamiliar. Not a good start to trying to resurrect their ailing news brand.

The globe looks like a poor imitation of the National Nine News globe from decades ago, rendered in After Effects.

The theme sounds rushed, the pitch is off and it doesn’t command authority. Bring back the 2005 theme.
Overall it looks tacky, and it looks like a fake TV News bulletin you’d see in a TV show or movie. A caricature of an American local affiliate news station.

Looks almost European to me. Not sure where the evidence of OTT American design is.

This refresh is clearly drawing on some of Ross Dagan’s international experience at Al Jazeera. Ten News First is trying to establish itself as a commercial news service that values coverage of international affairs along with local news/national news.
The stylings are definitely more European, the design and the theme music in its electro-orchestral tone (compared to the brassiness we get from American nightly news)
